Taylor Swift - '1989 (Taylor's Version)'

I guess she’s splitting the TVs into two groups: the important 3 (Red, 1989, reputation) and the less important 3 (Fearless, Speak Now, Taylor Swift). So I’m guessing the next one after 1989 will be debut in the first half of 2024 (or 2025 if she wants to release new music next year, which she should), and then reputation in the fall to close out the re-recording project. I think rep would be a good closer, as its over-arching themes can be transposed from the KimYe situation to the Scooter/Scott debacle.

Yes, EXACTLY

Oh thanks. I looked at that site this morning but didn't see the new articles then.

yeah they update a lot slower. The deluxe editions weren't up there at first, but now they are. Although stock seems really low, cause the rose garden edition is also 'sold out' now.

These vault tracks better hit. She seems confident in them which is a good thing, and she definitely could have put more than 5 on there but she seems to be limiting herself intentionally, which hopefully means less filler. There’s no reason those vault tracks can’t act as actual singles if they’re strong enough, especially now since she’s reclaimed her throne at radio.

No but imagine if the vault tracks are actually Blank Space/Style/Wildest Dreams level of pop perfection. I’m praying she got the cheque book out for Max Martin.

Only 5 vault tracks cause the rest are apart of Karma (Taylor’s Version) :jonny4:

We love the idea of a Vault album.  13 songs left off the TVs released on 12/13 next year

There is ZERO room for error on Shake It Off and Blank Space. Everything else should hopefully be ok but those two songs are so important to get right.

Yeah. Blank Space shouldn't be too hard to get right in the production (listen to an instrumental and it's all pretty straightforward), but Shake It Off has like 4000 percussive elements and if any one of them is missing it's gonna be hard to listen to :gaycat6:

The only disappointment is that there are only 5 vault tracks. And lol only 3 and a half months between the two TVs :jonny:

A few things…

I’m THRILLED she announced it. We knew it was likely but it was so great to see it actually play out.

I’m very iffy on the cover. It’s probably my least favourite out of all the re-recordings. The seagulls are serving clip-art… and I don’t love the boarder/text placement.

I’m sure it might grow on me but this is the only cover which I think looks like a down-grade compared to the stolen version.

5 vault songs is a TINY bit disappointing… lets hope they all deliver.

This criminally underrated bop being forgotten makes me kinda sad. It's a bomb but it marks a pivotal moment in Swiftian history imo because it was the FIRST collab between her and Jack. I've always considered it a pre-1989 song and I was sure that she would include it. :emofish: Its also better than some songs on the OG album but people aren't ready for it.mp3

She’s too much of an ARTPOP stan to know what she’s gonna do.

I haven't been able to listen to it since I randomly watched the movie it's associated with cause now I can only think of James Cordon :gaycat6:

This is a flawless cute bop, but it doesn’t really fit 1989. I’m sure she will re record it as standalone

ONLY 5 vault tracks is so disappointing... i was hoping at least 7/8 hell i'm sure she has enough material for 10 vault tracks

Christmas came early, best news that I woke up to. It's finally coming!!!

I will add the vault tracks to my 1989( stolen version) after giving the TV a whirl for first day numbers.

I really hope so. It would be weird to leave it. In my head, I thought it would be:

Crazier -> Debut

Sweeter Than Fiction -> 1989

I Don't Wanna Live Forever -> Rep

The cover is cute but it looks like fan art made by a 16 year old for an imaginary album called “Pennsylvania”
