Do we know where she was at the start of this year? Because at this rate, she’s chasing down Celine (just under 200m units) at light speed to become the second woman to ever reach the 200m units mark :gaycatx:

In ifpi numbers celine must be above 200 million. Between 210 to 220 milkion actually because shipments were sales. And her biggest albums had gap of 2 or three million in past each. For bigger artists who are above 100 million, I give chartmasters error rate of anywhere from five to 20 million per artist. Neverthless she is coming for her next year.

I wish when Taylor becomes best selling female artist, ifpi must reveal that to shut everyone up and give her special award. I know chartmasters are not perfect, but their numbers for midnights were spot on when report came out. I know she is selling over 40 million units this year and last year she sold over 23 million ( CM had her at 22 million if I remember).

Chartmasters tweeted two weeks ago I think, and said that since Midnights she has accumulated more than 46+million units so she must've been around 130 million at the start of the year

Why? Since red tv, red has added over eight million. And 1989 is bigger album. That way it will be around 37 million by 2025 end. If not 2026, by 2027 1989 will be over 40 million.

But the numbers can't get added. They're different albums.

Love how WTNY always catches some heat here and there, even tho it's such a harmless song and I really vibe to it:gaylorcat2:

I think only chartmasters does that tbh, when they make their lists of the best selling albums of certain years for example

More crazy fact is her first 100 million took little more than 14 years but the next 100 million will take three years. She doubled her career sales in three plus years. She is biggest catalog selling female artist ever because she was smart enough to not to release a greatest hit album in her career. Which keeps her old albums in demand. Otherwise it wouldve eaten original sales. Even this prime would be impossible for her to beat down the line.🤣

They are same albums. Same song. Rerecordings are not considered new albums and in many European charts, they are counted as same work. Only label is different. But in end they are same albums and eras. To each their own. Artist have resold their albums over and over in name of repackages and remasters. She sold her old music in new package successfully. No one can call them new fresh albums

I have to confess I listened to WTNY today and it hit. I’m afraid I might like the TV

They could be the same album if the albums or the songs at least had the same titles. Lol they're not the same albums.

They are same albums packaged in new editions. Repackages, box sets are always assigned to original work. They are not new brand album. They are considered same era in end. In Germany they are sold as one for example. In future if she gets her masters, they will br sold as one again. It is not new fresh album.. She made people  buy them again. Which shows value of her catalog and her first six albums were already eight digit sellers without rerecording

And also to mention her first six eras would be over 100 million albums units combined even without any rerecording btw.

Sorry, I disagree with you. I would agree if the Taylor's Version on the title of each song didn't exist. But it's not the same master of the album, it's a whole new recording.
