Taylor Swift - '1989 (Taylor's Version)'

I hope there are no features (other than the Kendrick remix and Imogen’s background vocals). I kinda love how 1989 was pure undiluted Tay without other people coming through.

but if it has to….. i’d love it if we got someone like Robyn or Lorde for a vault song

Red is the only good cover

It definitely feels like the one where actual effort was put in and the only one so far that looks album-cover worthy, I don't get why they overlooked the visual aspect of the re-recordings this much. Presentation matters and you'd think, given how grand of a move the entire thing was, she'd care more but maybe the visuals is the one thing she cares less about with the rerecordings.

Wait did they cut the city off the pic or is it AI generated? It’d look great as her NYC album

I think it's photoshopped

1989 (Taylor's Version) by Taylor Swift has sold more than 200,000 copies in less than 5 hours since the announcement, it's her fastest album to do so and it's not even close.

So excited for this :duca: I'm glad she's picking up the pace with these too!

I'm a little nervous, cause Style and Clean (and maybe also OOTW) are some of my fav songs of her ever and I just hope she doesn't butcher them.

The previous re-recordings, I wasn't as familiar with the OGs, but I listened to 1989 a lot, so I'm sure I'll notice all the differences more this time.

The cover is pretty awful, definitely the weakest TV one so far, but I feel like if you just removed the text (and maybe the border) it would actually be cute!

The cover would have been so much better without any text.

I think because that 1989 TV cover had the biggest change out of all the other covers, it would make sense to add the title on it so the GP knows what it is

more alternative covers for later i guess :deadbanana2:

People hate the cover because it doesn't follow the first three TV, like can you guys be serious for real :coffee2:

Anyways, this will do 1M+ for sure :superman:

You can't make her change the cover for the physicals. The vinyl's been on the pressing plants for months, probably since April.

Oh that HIDEOUS cover :deadbanana2:

For example for Red She worked with a very large and variegate group of collaborators, and the album neeeded country songs, pop Songs etc.. so She left behind very good songs like nothing new or Better man (cause probably She tought there were enough country songs ).

For 1989 Is all max Martin and few antonoff so if Wonderland was a Deluxe track i don't think there Is this incredible pop Song She left behind for Wonderland. The album Is all max Martin and all the same genre, you put all the best songs on It.

I doubt that she just took the demos, re-recorded them and put on the album. We've seen it on Red TV, she's sometimes changing and writing new lyrics for old songs and changing it's production. So she easily could improve them to be a bunch of pop-perfection songs and bring some other artists to make them even more iconic.

The cover is ok. But tbh she’s never had interesting covers so I guess this feels the most fresh. Super excited for the vault tracks!!

When she let Jack produce the whole album then what?
