For those who want more TS x Max Martin songs, you’ll get at least 1 more on Rep TV with “Family” (which was written by Taylor, Max, Shellback & Oscar Holter) so it’s not the end of the world if he’s not on the 1989’s vault :cm:

wtf is "family" :deadbanana2: i thought rep vault info was pretty much bare other than like...TIWYCF

When we all look like boo boo the fool anyway because she'll drop a 1989 (Taylor's Version) (3AM Version) (The Long Pond) with MM tracks :khalyan2:

Well, it was a lawsuit that got him to admit that Blondie had completed the whole song, lyrics and melody, by the time they got to the studio. Yet he's credited as a main songwriter. A little fishy if you ask me :celestial5:

wait i thought she only wrote the lyrics and then max came along to create the melody together im

family is a track that was registered in 2017 on GEMA and done around the same time as dancing with our hands tied as it shares the same writers (Holter  Martin  Shellback)

We literally had an entire Jack pop album last year and none of those songs are anthemic and punchy pop songs. He just doesn't have it in him anymore.

Watch his vault songs sound like Question...? and Mastermind  :gaycat7:

Anti-Hero was an absolute smash, though. He clearly did something right from a pop music perspective.

I guess we’ll agree to disagree? Taste is subjective, after all.

I still have 1 fear about the 1989 tv vault. I hope and pray that Aaron Dessner isn’t the producer on “Say Don’t Go”. He needs to stay as far away from the pop bible after he botched the Midnights flow with “TGW”, “WCS” & “HI”. Without those, Midnights would’ve been skipless

Excluding Maroon and YOYOK, these are literally my three favorite songs on Midnights :gaycat7:

I mean, an anthemic punchy pop album was the furthest thing from what they were going for with Midnights. I don’t get what’s so hard for y’all to understand about this :deadbanana4:

Regardless, these songs will be in line with his original 1989 contributions like IWYW/OOTW, so you’ll get your punchy pop anthems.

Well WCS is perfection and easily the best song on Midnights so let's not drag that masterpiece :rogue:

But yes I completely agree. Aaron just cannot do pop songs at all. We've seen his attempts with The Great War and High Infidelity and it just doesn't work :rip: since there's no Max Martin on the vaults Jack should just produce them all.

They’re good songs (TGW & HI) but they don’t fit with that album sonically at all. She should’ve released them as an EP earlier (especially since they were written way back in march 2021)

Imagine the equivalent of this:

For Taylor assuming Blank Space/Style is her So What. Tragic.

I think overall none of the 3AM tracks really fit sonically with the standard edition, which for me is why they were included in the 3AM/Deluxe edition. Maybe Paris and Dear Reader do, but that's a stretch.

Even lyrically, I feel they are not as "light" as the standard tracks. That obviously excludes Paris. Maroon is kinda the only track that would have fit on the 3AM edition lyrically (and sonically tbh).

Basically, switch the edition of Paris and Maroon, and then you have the standard with the lighter topics and production, while the 3AM is a bit more heavy.

That's because this is not the sound they wanted for the album....

The fact that there are no vault songs produced by Ryan Tedder :biblio:

These are just the writing credits, love. For all we know, Say Don’t Go might be produced by him.
