It won't be far off though. I predict something like 150-160M. It’s Taylor so the more we deny it, the more she proves us wrong, so I’m going to say that there’s no way she’ll top Midastouch on Spotify. Edited October 7, 2023 by Taylor fanboy 1

Midnights had the 13 core tracks doing all the heavylifting. The 3am tracks were really hard to find. Most people remained unaware of them for a while. 1989 will have all 21 tracks available from the get go. Plus she might have a surprise "Party like it's 1989" remix edition up her sleeves. So I'm predicting 200m+
Edge Of Glory Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 i said this before but im skeptical 1989 will stand up as well as midnights on streaming first week simply bc most of the songs are old (16 old/5 new), while midnights had 20 entirely new songs for casuals AND stannies to listen to and pore over. i def think it can put up a fight simply bc it's both a fan fave and arguably her most retrospectively beloved album, the numbers just from pre-orders prove that, but i wouldn't be shocked if it was just a skosh below midnights numbers. 2

So did Speak Now and it people still streamed despite the punishing song lengths. Won't it do fairly higher numbers than Speak Now? If it does then Midnights is certainly within reach

Definitely not first week numbers, but first day numbers should be at least on par 1
G.U.Y_Del_Rey Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 I need Suburban Legends to be an anthem a la New Romantics.

zasderfght Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 I just came in here to say I'm not a Swiftie, but now that we're in fall season, I streamed Red (Taylor's Version), and wow, it's so good! The fact it's the same songwriting, just tweaks with the production and new vocals, yet it outshines the original in every way. She deserves all the critical acclaim for Red TV and then some. Considering there's singles from the 1989 album cycle I liked a lot (but, sadly, I didn't care for 1989), I can't wait for the TV version of 1989. Maybe it'll have the Red effect on me where I vastly prefer the TV version & actually like it/stream it. 3

There's also this twitch streamer that I follow that reacts to the album immediately after it comes out, so I usually listen to it at the same time as her, on her stream.

Feanor Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Looks like a new 22-track Bad Bunny album is imminent Hopefully he drops it before '1989 (TV)' rather than after.
