the most 80s sounding songs on 1989 are

i wish you would

style

welcome to new york

new romantics

out of the woods

you're in love

the rest (so basically almost every single- max martin song) it's kinda katy perrys 2010 . Blank Space and Wildest dreams have some very little nuance of it.

I thought it was rushing too, but I double checked on genius and it has running in there :deadbanana4:

Edit: Just triple checked on the booklet and it’s running :gaycat1:

Friendly reminder that the very first song Taylor and Jack worked on was I Wish You Would, Sweeter Than Fiction just got released first.

She should recreate the Blank Space video, it would be so iconic :jonny5:

His two worst produced songs. She must have seen something that keep him on.

It took years for me to find out :deadbanana4:

same with “where you stood” which I always heard as “wasted” :dies:

Her media coverage these last 2 days has been insufferably insane :rip: And mostly on sports & conservative pages. Which is good considering the girls & gays already would've known. Whew, imagine the boost in streams if she released 1989TV last Friday :deadbanana2:

WaiT, what if she breaks up with Travis next month, & then drops the "Slvt!" MV, & the media once again attacks her for a 1 month relationship, & sleeping around :jonny5:

Out Of The Woods

New Romantics

You R In Love

Blank Space

Wildest Dreams

All You Had To Do Was Stay

Shake It Off

This Love

I Wish You Would

Bad Blood

Welcome to New York

I Know Places

Clean

Wonderland

How To Get That Girl

But almost all tracks are flawless, and 1989 is by far her best album. Such a difficult ranking to do.

High-key genius:WAP:

if we have to do a proper ranking of 1989tv then we'll have to include STF from now on

STF is not 1989

Even she knows it :celestial3:

A marketing genius, i always feel like Taylor knows what exactly she's doing and makes sure to take advantage of it .

1989? no

1989tv? now apparently yes since she's clearly trying to fit these droplets into the eras that she thinks they belong in, just like now i fully consider Eyes Open, SAS and Ronan part of the Red (tv) era cause she added them herself, or like now i consider ITWAM part of the Fearless era instead of Speak Now etc, the same will probably happen with IDWLF in rep

Let it be known that all of these songs are either 10/10 or 9/10 for me except Bad Blood, which is the only one I never listen to anymore. However, even it goes off and is so much fun live, so I guess 1989 really is that album in the end. :clap3:

You know, I never thought about where Sweeter Than Fiction would rank among 1989  before. I listen to it more than New Romantics tbh, and probably as much as You Are In Love, so likely around 9-10. I can’t wait for the TV. :duca:

I actually hate all the Jack songs on 1989. And that includes OOW. I don't understand that songs appeal at all.

you should:

 - clear your mind

 - listen to the grammy acoustic performance and do not skip her speech

 - listen to the 1989 tour performance

that'll help u see a part of its appeal

Up until folklore and evermore, OOTW was her best song for me, it's like magic, it's like a drug, her best bridge and I love love love love love the song.

I HATE the "oh oh ohhs" and find the chorus so reptivive :rip:. Maybe one day it'll click for me. I much prefer Jack's work on her other albums.

Ugh I remember listening to OOTW when I was 15. It was my favorite at the time, I wanted a video so bad and we got one :jonny5:

Do you guys think Cruel Summer will prevent SLVT from smashing?

from the target site

this is making the theory about the extra ep/expanded edition that includes the collabs/remixes more believable because there’s no way she’s not dropping the bb remix…
