This was a cultural reset when it dropped... those few days between this ad and the album coming out felt like eternity

Second only to Eras as the greatest Swift season. Ugh that Style Target commercial is everything and perfectly embodied that era.

i haven't seen anyone talking about the rumored title track (Party Like It's 1989) so is it really scrapped or doesn't exist at all? or it's in the rumored surprise all collabs second disc :thing:

No. We’ve always known that Taylor and Diane Warren worked on a song together back during the original 1989 era (or post Red), but to this day we still know literally nothing about it, not even the title. Obviously it’s not on 1989 TV, so my guess is either A) it was never completed, or B) Taylor just let it go.

Aside from that, we’ve never known anything about music that wasn’t included on 1989 until now.

You summed it up perfectly :dies: The 1989 era, before album release, was a trying time. The album drop & Blank Space turned it all around for me :clap3:

the way she made everyone switched like ******* on release day :jonny: Blank Space and Style will forever be her most iconic 1-2 punch

I liked 1989 when it first came out because I was excited she went full pop, but it hasn’t aged well over the years in my opinion possibly because she’s released way better tracks since then. A lot of the 1989 songs have shallow songwriting in a similar vein as ME! Very basic lyrics, but catchy nonetheless.

Well someone finally said it

I was so disappointed when the official MV dropped. I was expecting an extended version of the Target commercial. The official was too dark even though it still served a lot of great visuals.

This, i remember hating 1989 so much pre-release and against her going full pop.

Mainly because i hate hows repetitive Shake it off and then Out of the wood is. HTGTG snippet sounds basic as hell and Welcome to NY is tragic. All of them grow on me when the album release, but those pre-release is tough time.

Compare to Red iconic pre-release promo singles, we were gag week after week with different sound, and the quality is top notch, the weekly itunes slayage, promo singles selling 300k+ like nothing

i’m glad this is a safe space because I forced myself to like it because she was my girl but I did NOT want her going full pop and hoped it was just a little experiment she wanted to get out her system :deadbanana: The liked Blank Space but Out of the Woods made me really want to give the project a chance because of the 1-2 punch :dies: and when I heard Style? WHEW.

But even to this day 1989 is probably like…. my least fav and the tv i’m the least excited for :rip: I hated welcome to new york but when i visited NY last week i felt a lil tingle in my spirit so i might try and revisit it

Style MV sticks out like a sore thumb from that era dddd. It honestly serves high production lyric video more than it does MPG 2010s music video.

She could have just pranced around nyc and it would have been iconic.

the revisionist history in here to make it seem as though the lead of to 1989 was anything like Lover’s :rip:

SIO was a big hit but I hated it when it dropped too… I remember being nervous as hell for the album…

Thankfully when OOTW dropped my faith was restored.

So here where I live it's only the blue or this weird orange vinyls (I wish it was more orange, it look beige), what to buy?

I mean the extra song... but I'm not really listening to them, it's just to collect, same price. What you all guys bought?
