Kylie Minogue - More Than Just a Residency

This is bad, this is cheap, the stage is so small, this looks like a rich school production. What a terrible choice

Less than a Residency… I am very sad for all the Kylie fans who bought tickets for this. I cannot even comprehend how low quality this looks.

I am not even sure it’s entirely her fault either. It seems like the venue is more in charge than she is. The concept is interesting but it’s very clear this venue was made just to swap a performer in/out and not much else was thought of. The decor is tacky and cheap, even for Vegas. The club itself should look good for the price of admission.

the name sure is a bit odd now, especially since Kylie is know for pretty baggy shows with amazing visuals and great props and she has proven that she and her team can put this into a small venue as well so id have to agree that its seems like the Venetian has a lot to say here.

the venue is ******* UGLY.

my problem with Kylie’s setlists in general (and not just this one) is that she more or less ALWAYS performs the same selection of catalogue songs over and over and over again, and it just gets extremely stale.

you go to her shows and you know 99% what to expect, and she’s rarely going to pull deep cuts that leave you shaking. for example during the Golden showcases she dusted off Cowboy Style which was amazing, but then it was nowhere to be seen on tour. but she tortured the gays with Kids and Wow again.

obviously this wasn’t going to happen at a Vegas residency, but sometimes I wish she were more like Madonna in that regard and constantly switch it up.

you are so right about this, she needs to step up setlist wise :bird: she performs the same songs every tour with additional of new ones of each album

Ok so i saw a few videos ...

The setlist is almost perfect

(Its missing Better the Devil and I should be so lucky)

Also if she adds 2 Disco and 5 Tension she could have the Tension World Tour ( im praying it will happen )

Vocally its amazing , the sound is great

Visually its very poor i have to admit its a letdown

P.s. Tension looks sick live

The seating arrangement for the venue looks awful. I'd ask for my money back honestly :deadbanana4:

I'm so glad I decided against going to this. Going to keep waiting for an arena tour in Europe :skull: I just hope the issues with this are purely due to the venue and with an arena, she'd do a proper show.

from the clips i’ve seen, this is her most basic show since before On a Night Like This. cute outfits and choreo but just a backdrop and band, no props or gags.

“Wow” MIA for some of these is just-

The setlist is exactly what you'd expect. What's actually annoying to me is that basically all arrangements she's been doing for years  I understand the show is for the locals and the elites, so basically her private gigs from usual except anyone can buy a ticket. For a second I thought she'd gag us with jazzy/cabaret style, very intimate performances but this is the same show she's been doing for years now except with smaller screens :deadbanana2:

On the good side, at least she had the good sense (for once) to not include Kids...

The whole thing feels more like private gig for rich ppl than actual residency show :gaycat6:

I don't exactly regret missing out on tickets for this, it doesn't look great for what she's charging, but looking at the reviews and images of people in the audience, did anyone else see who was there last night?

Imagine going to see Kylie expecting to have a good time, but are constantly being reminded of the ugliness surrounding Dan Reed/Leaving Neverland sitting at the front of the stage.

The setlist is perfect atleast

Perfect?

I can count at least four or five songs that don't deserve to be there. She should've put Say Something or Magic in place of Supernova, and where's BTDYK or ISBSL?

The way y’all are crying about songs she’s performed thousands of times being excluded when I just wanted three more Tension tracks, bare minimum - You Get Me High, Greenlight and Story deserved places on the set list !

so are we gonna have videos of this or is it one of those shows where they take away your phone?

Seeing vegas residencies transform from a chance to see a big artist perform an arena level show in a small venue, to highly exclusive events for rich normies is so sad to see. We didn't know what we had with the Britney residency etc :rip: Big Kyle fan but this leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, sorry :michael:

I love that Kylie still gives us full eras years into her career however this residency doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth. The very expensive tickets coupled with her emptiest production ever, it's a disappointment. Kylie in Vegas should be an elaborate show - if she was able to do the Aphrodite Les Folies arena show on wheels around the entire globe, then imagine what she could do in a tiny venue parked in just one spot! A missed opportunity to be creative and create awesome setpieces.

Having said that, I do really like the outfits, Kylie sounds great and in my opinion, the set list is fair all things considered. Kylie does tend to sing the same songs, but since it's Vegas, it's fair. The 1-2-3 punch of Padam Padam, Head, and Love at First Sight is iconic to me. I do think the exclusions of Better the Devil and Say Something are a letdown though. The camp feel of Miss A Thing, Last Chance and Kiss Of Life would have been fun too.

No “On a night like this”? she’s absolutely SICK for that.

The residency looks cheap and definitely the worst stage production i’ve seen out of all the pop girlies doing Vegas residencies. I agree with the user who said it looks like a private gig for rich people.

The chokehold this woman has on me. I’m probably gonna go next year. :monkey: You win, Kylie™.

honestly I just need to see her live and all I really want to do next year is Coachella and special events like Kylie in a 1,000 seat venue.

Im sorry but everything looks so cheap :rip:

I saw some clips and she looks like she is having a good time, but it feels like she's performing in some back street cafe.

I will say the outfits are EATING and she's looking and sounding amazing tho!

The dress code: "no offensive prints, tank tops, chains, swimwear, towels, shorts or athletic wear".

They really said it's okay if you're gay just don't show it

Vegas has always had archaic dress code rules. I remember seeing the Aphrodite show in Vegas - we showed up wearing togas and weren’t allowed in. We had to buy Celine Dion shirts at the merch stand (it was her venue at the time.) Makes zero sense. Especially at a concert like Kylie’s. That same trip I went to a club and wasn’t allowed in because I was wearing shorts. Ma’am it’s summer weather because this is the DESERT and my legs are gorgeous, I’m not covering them up.

To me the setlist is almost perfect. The Light Years/Supernova part of Infinite Disco was my favourite part and would SLAY me live. Come Into My World is a stone cold classic too. Looks like a very intimate affair overall and Kylie is exactly the kind of pop star to pull that off. Wish I could go see it!

What happened to her?

Where's the big production for this :sadviolin:
