Name ownership has been brought to court several times in Korea with mixed results. A huge name like BP could force a real legal precedent to be set, and it could be a massive loss for all Korean agencies if BP wins. Ownership of the name implies some level of ownership of the actual brand too.

 

YG doesn't want this and would most likely relinquish the group name if they wanted to stick together outside of YGent. YG hasn't forced anybody to leave their name behind with the company for this reason.

they need to move on from YG at this point. fight for the name, sign good distribution deals with a big US label and keep working on the brand. they're already immensely popular.

 

also we all know Teddy's sound is TIRED. we don't meed more of him.
