Baby Judas Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 YG needs to break their bank to keep this group intact. Looks like Lisa's huge Chinese offers is what's making the negotiations messy.
Popular Post Sheep Posted July 25, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 25, 2023 (edited) The thing that bothers me about the current press circus around this is that is that YG's press team is constantly talking about how they'll do anything to get the girls to renew but if that was actually the case, they would have reached an amicable agreement months ago. This is clearly an attempt by YG to turn Black Pink's toxic fanbase against the group itself as leverage to accept a sub-par renewal contract. No fan of Black Pink should be pressuring those girls into sticking with a company that's done them dirty since day 1. YG needs to accept that Black Pink is the last successful idol group that company has and that all the bargaining power is in their hands or YG is going to dissolve as a company within the next 5 years. Selegend Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 (edited) i hope they don't disband, i still want so much to go to a blackpink concert. they do need to release more songs than what they currently do tho. 8 songs each 3 or 2 years is not it. Edited July 25, 2023 by Selegend 2
Gui Blackout Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 They need to drop out of YG and just sign with an US label. Republic, Interscope, Columbia etc will be throwing millionaire contracts at them. They'll have more personal and creative freedom, finally good management, expand global domination while still catering to Korean/Asian market. There's zero reason other than sentimental for them to remain at YG. 11
LustSpell Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 (edited) I mean, stop letting them have 1 comeback every 2-3 ******* years and actually focus on them and maybe you wouldn't have been in this situation. If they had the BTS treatment of throwing music out every three seconds with the rabid fanbase they have... They'd be unstoppable. Though I hope they don't break up though cause I wanted to see them in concert at least once :/ Edited July 25, 2023 by LustSpell 1

Fans and the media need to wise up or else history is doomed to repeat. 1
MermaidPrincess Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 (edited) YG can't afford little loca LaLisa anymore. sorry. They're over. Next! Edited July 25, 2023 by MermaidPrincess 4
Jack! Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 They’re not gonna re-sign with YG, it’s like signing up to willingly being put in a corner - it restricts any creative control in the future and they’ve become too big for that. They’ll either sign with someone new or they’ll move on to solo projects now as was with 2NE1.

WeFoundWill Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 the power their currently hold over that company is INSANE. They could literally ask for ANYTHING and YG would gladly throw it at them.
Odette Violet Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 They don't have any valuable assets to replace BP like they did with 2NE1. It's pretty much over for YG. 2

Can't they be just a Interscope girlband? no shade but why do they need a korean company if they're global for so long. Edited July 25, 2023 by Selegend 2
uusagii Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 All four members are better without YG or even the BP name at this point 1
Popular Post BOOMBAYAH Posted July 25, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 25, 2023 Literally look at what YG done to CL, promised her a solo album and proper management to become a superstar only to literally ban her from making music. If these girls are smart, they would dip. 14 1

I'm not sure if their contract with Interscope is just a distribution deal or what, but I'm sure they would be more than interested. They're big enough now that they can break out of the traditional Kpop industry format.

Anyone who wants to keep them as a group, including YG, has to compete with that $100M Chinese offer to Lisa though.. It's either go broke keeping them as a group or disband for them, I fear.
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 The way YG would've had the most easiest renewal contract with BP if they treat them better for the last 6.5 years Now they're sweating because they would get kicked OUT of Big 4 if BP won't renew 1
WeFoundWill Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 The way the tables completely flipped compared to what happened 8 years ago to 2NE1. Back then YG was in a position to disband them without any consequences. Fast forward and we now have the complete opposite situation where Blackpink is basically holding YGE‘s existence in the palm of their hand. 4
WeFoundWill Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 YGs raster of artists can‘t hold up in the 4th gen world and quite honestly? I don‘t have the highest hopes when it comes to Baby Monster either.

Around that time all of YGs acts started to fall off, even AKMU is no longer a digital force. Treasure album sales are DECREASING, which is a horrible sign for a 4th gen kpop group. And I mean Winner are absolute nobodies these days that cant move album nor crack the top 20 in Korea. Edited July 25, 2023 by WeFoundWill 1
