Sorry about that. But the U.K. is not the only market that automatically certifies. Midnights already has more multi-platinum certifications for instance (which correspond to its units sold) than Folklore despite Folklore allegedly moving double the units. Do you understand why I'm questioning the numbers. There's nothing "fishy" about it. It's just thta Folklore is still doing almost 9M+ streams daily on Spotify alone right now and that translates to a lot of units globally. She didn't move 5M/7M per album in a year given that her catalog wasn't updated by CM in mid 2022. The automatic updates for streams were only added recently. You can try and check the formula yourself and you'll find that these are most just Spotify streams. In Folklore case there was the vinyl release for the live version in 2023. CM is just translating that into sps units like they do for all artists. Certifications are meaningless in countries where they are not automatic.
