Just because something isn’t a hit doesn’t make it “art”

Some of y’all saying “art not the charts” as if this is art

Is it that hard to grasp the idea that the “demonic references” are basically about her? She literally sings in the song “she’s the devil, she a bad lil *****” :rip:

It’s not simply “throwing devil references for shock value”, there isn’t even anything shocking in the video. Those are just normal paintings and imagery.

People are just stupid don’t mind them

Wow, she's really gonna be around for a long time to come. I think the album/singles are probably DOA hit-wise, but she's really putting together a masterpiece that'll be looked back on as such. She'll put out new music in a few years and recover commercially, but the nerve of this whole era is what will cement her place in the long run.

it would only cement her place in the industry if she’s able to make a great album that is filled with her true artistic indentity. I wished she did the rap thing with the same aesthetic she used for So High, Purrr! and Tia Tamera etc. THAT was and still is Doja’s real and authentic artistry. Attention gave Doja Badu / Doja Lamar vibes and PTTR is kind of like… not that different from what she’s been doing.
