Objectively Jay Z has the greatest career in Hip Hop history and people absolutely care for him, they were just saying he had verse of the year last year. The idea that Jay Z is some nobody is the greatest piece of fan fiction in Pop music circles. He is mostly a nobody outside the US especially compared to Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. 1 1 2

More Than A Melody Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 I was a toddler when they broke up, so I can't really tell you if they were iconic or not I think Bey and Jay Z are kind of a staple of pop culture. Justin and Selena too, people are still obsessed with them even though they've been broken up for ages. For having lasted 3 months publicly, I think Harry and Taylor still have a ton of fans who want them back together, but I think that's probably more of a testament to their celebrity and careers than them as a couple. 1989 TV is bound to bring every Haylor back from the dead. 1

This is a forum full of gays so Jay being a straight rapper will always count against him outside of his association with Beyoncé this "demographic" couldn't care less. Doesn't take away how legendary he is as a rapper though, with or without Beyoncé. He was already scoring multiplatinum #1 albums in the 90's.
