Chrissy Chlapecka - Alpha

I don't know her stuff that well, this is kinda cool, it's giving trashier Blackout a little. I like the movement. Feel like I've heard iterations of this shtick a few times before n

Kimbra - Madhouse

it has a groove I like! cool song

HYRA - REM (No Sleep)

Torn becasue I played this song to death (100 plays territory) at the start of the year and then had to block her ass bcuz this track was autoplaying constantly and I was sick of it. However I will try to put that aside because it's such an earworm which I loved, just a little abrasive after a while x

Kristinia DeBarge - Powerless

My immediate thought was how cheap this soudns jsdosfds. It's giving Shontelle levels of budget, however tbh it's kind of enjoyable despite this. Maybe if it was upgraded to a moderate Kelly Rowland budget level this would be great

Indigo De Souza - Kill Me

It's well exected but not really for me

The Pierces - Secret

Thematically this is a cool choice because it's strangely delicate but also unmistakably demonic at the same time with lots of the very spooky musical choices. But as an actual song, it's not something I would choose to listen to. It's like fine? I'm assuming most of the praise here is nostalgia value from PLL becase it's kind of overly theatrical and grating even after only 3 mins

Björk - Atopos

Well it's uncomfortable to listen to. I know that's her entire shtick but I don't think this forms part of her more succesful projects. The use of clarinet is cool

Alice Glass - BABY TEETH

I love the use of chaotic synth here, it's somehow done in a trashy yet also refined and intricate way. This is really good imo!

aespa - Illusion

The instrumental was very ugly and off putting in the verses to me. I enjoyed the prechorus and hook so that was a shame

Corinne Bailey Rae - New York Transit Queen

Ummm why is she giving The Ting Tings :rip: It's not awful but I will be strongly passing

Angelic [10/10]:

KISS OF LIFE — Sugarcoat (NATTY Solo)

Cute.

Snoh Aalegra — I Want You Around

A different approach to this & I’m lloooovvviiinngg it. Need to get into her.

mxmtoon — haze

Very lovely / a nice discovery!

tripleS — Cherry Talk

The production on this is very distinct - I love it! Some of the vocal melodies felt a bit off, but otherwise it fits the theme great!

Demonic [10/10]:

Björk & Kasimyn — Atopos

I’m not thoroughly familiar with her discography but I can imagine she had better songs that fit the “chaotic production” criteria. I like this a lot lyrically but the bass clarinet… not sure if it’s for me.

Alice Glass — BABY TEETH

Feels “just there” for me.

aespa — Illusion

Mmmm was hoping for something more eerie-sounding for this theme. The song doesn’t do much for me either.

Corinne Bailey Rae — New York Transit Queen

I’m surprised I’m liking this!
