NickAurora Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Honestly, I really like this track. It's definitely the best offering from the Barbie OST so far.
UnusualBoy Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 (edited) I don't feel like it goes anywhere but the song is cute overall. Edited July 13, 2023 by UnusualBoy
Riverbank Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 This is easily on of her best songs. Ugh she never misses
YellowRibbon Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Vocally nice but it goes nowhere. Boring song overall 1
Mystical Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Imagine thinking those whines are suitable for such a vibrant colourful happy movie like Barbie. 1 1 9

Blackout2006 Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 It's a stunning, and beautiful ballad. Her vocals are pristine and sweet, and perfectly support the heaviness of the lyrics throughout the track. I can definitely see it achieving an Oscar nomination. The music video is amazing as well! It's her best since the 'Happier Than Ever' MV, and I hope to see it receive more appreciation in the future. I can also see her outfit become a staple look of hers. 9/10 1
DevinWylde Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 very nice, I feel like a lot of the songs from the soundtrack have been a bit too similar vibe-wise so giving us a mix up with a song that's guaranteed to be promoted is nice. biggest compliment I can give is just about how mature and well rounded Billie's voice has become, she's really learning how to make the most of it and she sounds so much more confident now. 1
Revel Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Brilliant track. Her vocals here are so beautiful and have really matured. 1

The director has said that the song represents the core message of the movie. So it makes sense that a retrospective and stripped ballad that represents the vacuum one feels when they do not know themselves is a perfect song to compliment that theme. The movie is not going to be all sparkles, pink, and euphoria. It has a deeper message and we will get to see it once it is ouT 1
Desire Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Oh wow this is stunning. Already a contender for that academy award 1
badgirlriri Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Beautiful song and REALLY loved the video, probably in my T10 of her videography right off the bat 1
Hi-res Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 (edited) One thing about Billie…she’s going to serve excellence! Beautiful track. This will obviously hit 10x more while watching the movie. Edited July 13, 2023 by Hi-res 1
onapearl Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Beautiful I think I was expecting a little bit more from the song (I literally thought "that's it?") when it ended, but I really appreciate how low-key it was, and how low-key yet poignant the video was. Beautiful vocals as well. I wonder just how personal the lyrics were to Billie. Obviously she wrote them for the movie based on scenes she was shown, but I wonder how much she relates to this feeling nowadays. 1
Billionaire Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 I like the idea of the MV i think the problem is just the execution? I had the same issue with HTE MV (and most of the MVs from that era) but at the same time I don't really watch music videos anymore and most artists now aren't exactly going all out so As for the song, great vocals....it's definitely giving Male Fantasy, WTPO (actually the MV is sort of giving wtpo too lol)...planning to watch the movie on the 22nd and I'm definitely going to feel some sort of way when this comes on. You can hear some immense vocal growth on here and her verse on NFSA and I'm so excited to hear more of it on BE3 1
