I really wish people would stop blatantly lying and saying Emotion Side B is better than the OG. :deadbanana2:

Like...and Dedicated side B has a few good songs but overall...it's obvious they were B side tracks let's just say that.

Honestly this is the first time for me the B side project is on the same level as the original release.

1. Kollage

2. Put It To Rest

3. After Last Night

4. Shadow

5. So Right / Weekend Love

EMOTION > The Loveliest Time > Dedicated > Emotion Side B > Dedicated Side B > The Loneliest Time >>>> Kiss > Tug of War

:bird:

Also I need to say this, but I genuinely have no idea what Pitchfork sees in Psychedelic Switch (or most people here), it's bottom 3 here and the production is so cheap it's unsettling

it sounds like something I'd hear on the radio when I was 10 on holidays with my family

but I kinda like it tho

I guess you just have a much more refined taste and the rest of us are basic. :cm:

I haven't seen many people mention stadium love here, it's so euphoric :jonny:

The standouts are:

-Kamikaze

-After last night

-So right

-Come over

These are really excellent pop songs

(psychedelic switch is really good but the chorus could be more interesting melodically )

I don't feel Kamikaze too but it might grow on me

I’m trying to get what she wants to do with Aeroplanes, but it just isn’t clicking for me. Tbf, this is also what happened with Warm Blood - and a year later it was one of my absolute faves. So maybe it’ll be my tune for 2024.

TIER ONE:

  1. Kamikaze - Pop perfection. Classic Carly.
  2. Weekend Love - I love the KM/Body Language vibes on this one.
  3. Kollage - This is the exact sonic direction I wanted TLT1 to take.
  4. So Right - Sexy, cool, Carly.
  5. Shy Boy - A cute first single.

TIER TWO:

  1. Put It to Rest - Incredibly atmospheric. This one is going to age very well.
  2. Come Over - Nobody does Friday-night-booty-call jams like Carly.
  3. After Last Night - This one gets better as it progresses. Very 2000s J-pop.
  4. Stadium Love - A little too Taylor at times, but it's still strong.
  5. Shadow - Perfectly fine, just outshone by stronger material.

TIER THREE:

  1. Anything to be with You - Great production, but the songwriting is weak here.
  2. Aeroplanes - I like the production, but the verses are noticeably stronger than the chorus.
  3. Psychedelic Switch - The French house sound just doesn't really fit on this project.

I mean they're literally leftovers from the main album lol. As I said already, they're great leftovers anyway. It's just that it shows like the thought behind this was "I have 13 more amazing tracks so let's put them out" rather than "let's make an album", that's why I said it sounds like a leftovers collection.

Still, most pop girls wish they had albums that sounded this great

She actually said in an interview that she had it planned this way (Lonely then Lovely) and that these tracks are NOT leftovers but rather she didn’t want to put songs like Psychedelic Switch on Loneliest time, but also didn’t want to put Kollage and Put It To Rest on Loneliest either bc it would have been TOO down. So she tried to balance the 2 albums slightly while still maintaining the themes. So it’s not quite the same as side B. So…no they’re not literally leftovers. Also, not sure what you’re hearing as everyone is saying this is way more cohesive than Loneliest bc that was that albums biggest critique from listeners and reviews: it’s lack of cohesiveness (which I personally love about it)

Girl. Get real. emotion B has like 0 skips or luls. Emotion Side A is full of filler. I’m sorry that the general public and some fans truly think it’s her best album when in reality it has like a handful of amazing so bf a, a handful of good songs, and the rest are songs I barely listen to.

This is such a fun album to listen to. Carly saved my summer's music once again. :jonny3:

First of all, I love the album I'm getting it tattooed :alexz3: I just said they do sound like songs that didn't make it onto Loneliest to me... and that's ok. If you don't want to call them leftovers it's fine it's not like I meant it negatively
