What is the actual track order? I've been listening to it in the order based off Wiki/the crossword, but the download I have has a completely different track order. :lakitu: Would love some clarity if anyone actually knows haha.

1. Anything to Be With You

2. Kamikaze

3. After Last Night

4. Aeroplanes

5. Shy Boy

6. Kollage

7. Shadow

8. Psychedelic Switch

9.. So Right

10. Come Over

11. Put It to Rest

12. Stadium Love

13. Weekend Love

I don't think this tracklist flows well, so when I'm more familiar with the album I'll try to give it a revamp

I think I’ve enjoyed all songs except Aeroplanes, Shy Boy and Shadow.

I've been toying with this idea of completely revisiting tracklists of both, because Carly said there is no clear black and white in sound to separate them, but in my opinion if we tried we could. By their titles, The Loveliest Time sounds like a cheerful, more upbeat record whilst The Loneliest Time embraces reflection. I think by both sound and lyrical content, songs from both projects could be well separated and we could create 2 albums with different vibes. I'd love to hear some tracklists ideas for that from everyone

Side note, to me The Loveliest Time is a much more bold, fresh and even experimental record for her. It's almost as if The Loneliest Time was a b-side album to this. I wonder if she is somehow still unsure with stepping outside of her comfort zone in main projects or what

Before listening to The Loveliest Time I would've said that I'd like to see Carly experiment with more EPs, she could've done like 5 (cohesive) projects from TLnT material alone :rip: but this album is far and beyond what I was ever expecting. So many different influences and sounds and yet somehow it's her most cohesive project since Emotion Side B, and it works; I understand she had a vision for The Loneliest Time being a mix of different flavours but I think she executed that same idea here to perfection.

This isn't exactly what you're asking for but I still very much like the idea of her doing an entire Rostam & Patrik Berger (and Bullion)-type album. I'm also totally in favour of her doing another The Loveliest Time where it's a bit all over the place but so effective. I feel like if Carly goes back to a "one sound" approach for her work that it has the risk of sounding too one dimensional lol. But this is what I came up with anyway:

Spoiler

- Kollage

- Western Wind

- Weekend Love
- Far Away

- Bends

- Shadow

- Aeroplanes

- Go Find Yourself or Whatever

- Put It To Rest

- No Thinking Over the Weekend

Ideally I'd also like to include Waterlines based on the snippet but I'm not sure where I'd place it lmao

The way Put It to Rest is exactly the vibe I needed from her.

You totally get it, this is how I'd group them too pretty much. And I don't think it's one dimension at all, especially if she is attempting to put something like Beach House in between to break the streak :rip: All these songs might sound like they come from the same headspace, but they serve well enough of variety and flavor. I also don't fully agree that TLvT is that cohesive, but the problem isn't really within the songs themselves, but the tracklist order. Need to sit with the album for bit more time to rearrange it though.

So I personally think her discography would only benefit with entire album made with 1/2 producers, ideally as talent and suitable as Rostam and Patrik (maybe add Ariel). They seem to push her to evolve more than the others.

omg Kamikaze is insane. It's giving Robyn Body Talk in its production.

Not to be dramatic but Kollage is like the best song I've ever heard

This is perfect pop album

this is the second time after Dedicated Side B where the companion album is much better than the original record. Emotion Side B was on the level of Emotion, but DSB and this are just miles ahead of their original counterparts.

Kamikaze is just tew good :-*

I hope the album gets Dolby Atmos on the 28th because I know some songs are gonna go awf on my surround sound setup :jonny5:

That's not dramatic, that's just a fact

is it a controversial opinion to think this is her best album since Emotion? (if I classify Emotion Side B as an EP)

It would be dramatic not to state this fact.

what's so controversial about speaking the truth?

Anything To Be With You is great, it just doesn't work as an opener imo

Side B has 9 songs, I think it's safe to say it's an album :thing:

Has she worked on anything with Ariel recently? I heard he reworked Eternal Summer (correct me if I'm wrong on that) but I think the last time she released one of his songs was Emotion :rip: I'd be curious to know what sorta sounds they'd make together now

I know what you mean though, Patrik was so influential in her writing and pushing her towards Dedicated instead of disco and opening her up to best experimental songs. I would really like just one album with a limited number of producers, I know she's not the type of artist who wants to deliver a "body of work" but she could truly release something of an opus (like a 'folklore' moment for her) if she keeps leaning into indie and alternative styles like she has between both TLT albums

The production on songs like After Last Night and Aeroplanes (and the rest too tho :rip:) is so cool. This is excatly what happens when you make music with love and no pressure and with intention to actually have fun
