There's hope. I hope this thread gets just as much love as "the world is falling apart" threads.  It's wonderful when politics work.

Politics has actually been silently working out well for most of the states that will determine the outcome of the 24 race (with the exception of North Carolina, that state is in serious trouble for the next decade+)

Michigan has made a ton of progress the last 6 months in their legislature: https://www.michigandaily.com/news/michigan-democratic-trifecta-100-days/

Wisconsin can (very likely) see a ton of changes coming their way with the new Supreme Court that is likely to strike down their horrid gerrymandered maps (they still have a long way to go but there is light at the end of the tunnel)

Nevada has a governor that is essentially neutered by the state leg, and has signed on to a ton of progressive laws because so: https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/4027996-republican-nevada-governor-signs-abortion-protections-legislation/amp/

Arizonas governor has prevented the state going full Florida, and they are very likely to get a trifecta in the next election

On top of that, things silently work for the better when voters are asked to vote on issues directly instead of a mouthpiece politician, and that’s likely to continue into 24, and there’s tons of recent results that prove it (as @Communion has pointed out). Issues like these:  https://ballotpedia.org/Florida_Amendment_2,_$15_Minimum_Wage_Initiative_(2020)

Have all passed the last 2 elections alone, and happened in red states at that

Absolutely, people often forget about check and balances but state effort is always a good indicator as far progress.

Just goes to show that elections matter. Imagine if he would’ve lost the election.

same with Michigan, Arizona. And even Louisiana.
