The second part of the franchise finale drops next year on June 28, 2024. Production is still in progress and scheduled to resume following the end of the promotional cycle for the first film.

DEADLINE: Blake Lively Pic ‘It Ends With Us’ Paused By WGA Pickets; Reports Of ‘Mission: Impossible 8’ Stoppage Untrue – Update

Meanwhile, Deadline is told that web reports that Mission: Impossible 8 has been postponed by the WGA strike are untrue. We’re told that every effort right now is going toward promoting Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One, the first installment of a two-part storyline. Paramount opens the Skydance film July 12, and evidently an article on director Christopher McQuarrie was misinterpreted. It mentioned these films were challenged by the Covid pandemic and the WGA strike. That led some internet outlets to make the leap that the film won’t shoot because of the latter circumstance. That isn’t the case, we’re told. Cruise and McQuarrie are busy promoting the film, and that has always been the plan. They’ve shot some of the new Mission: Impossible, and they expect to resume later in the summer. Hopefully, the labor stalemate will be over by then.

Really curious how Part Two will do, this looks to be one of the most acclaimed if not the most acclaimed action franchise of all time.

DEADLINE: ‘Mission: Impossible 8’ Jumps To 2025; ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ Goes To Summer In 2024 Theatrical Shake-Up Due To Actors Strike

Similar to Deadpool 3, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two needs to restart production, and that is looking unlikely with each day that passes in the SAG-AFTRA strike. The Tom Cruise sequel moves from June 28, 2024 next year to May 23, 2025 Memorial Day. The studio will have to access to Imax screens and Memorial Day is a special place as that’s where Cruise launched his biggest movie of all-time, Top Gun: Maverick to $1.49 billion WW.

I'm so excited. The only movie from 2025 I'm excited for. I hope it does well and it's not the last one.

It's already safe to say it will be amazing, so looking at all 8 movies and seeing that only one sucked (II) but still is watchable is such a serve.

It looks good!

I liked the last one, but it was so ******* long, hopefully they fix the pacing or the runtime this time
