The kicker is if he actually cared about children and families, he would advocate for policies (universal Pre-K, universal healthcare, child tax credit, ect.) that would mean parting ways with some of his precious billions, and you'll absolutely never see him do that. You can get your news from watching the news….. I haven’t been on twitter since January. My account is deleted and I’m still up to date on current events. Besides, everything on Twitter makes it way to other social media sites even the news, so you’re hardly missing anything.

News by streaming via the cable or international public news networks? It's 20 minutes behind on average. Other services aren't as conducive to taking in enough information quickly enough for the news, including Reddit and TikTok, etc. In terms of an aggregator and the format with headlines, etc. nothing else still comes close. 

 

It's increasingly a wasteland now given the viewing limits and tangible explosion in disinformation and ambulance chasers pushed artificially by bots now, etc. but I'd like to think of myself as perceptive enough to filter that out. It's also the easy access to the reactions TO that headline as well still on that service that are helpful to me.

20 minutes isn’t that long of a delay, nothing of importance has occurred to where a 20 minute delay caused people to lose their lives. You’ll learn that Taylor and Matt broke up 20 mins before everyone else, big whoop. Anything of importance will literally interrupt any channel and broadcast it. There’s been plenty of times when I’ve been watching TV and my show got interrupted because of a Presidential address or something comes on. Or I’ll get a notification via Apple News. When Kobe Bryant died my friend, who doesn’t have twitter, texted me. When Chadwick Boseman died, I saw it on TV when I was out having dinner. I don’t think there’s any news I learned on twitter first besides maybe a celebrity death.

 

we’re suffering from information overload. We’re absorbing too much info, too quickly and it’s messing up our cognitive abilities.

 

 

Im not saying this to tell you what apps you should and shouldn’t have, more so just saying you can get current events from other places.

Child? Who tf cares if you have a child or not. It's people without children and large families that are going to contribute more to society while having a significantly lower environmental footprint...but people aren't ready for that conversation yet.
