No the only time one of her singles has ever gone #1 on iTunes was drivers license.  Her fans are young and don't know what iTunes is.

The fact she struggling to get a quick number 1 is hilarious. Let the song do its thing. Don't force it. 

She only has 1 version of the song. No remixes to really be forcing it. iTunes discount is a very common practice for a new song release. I am quiet surprised they only discounted the song after 6 days, 1 day tracking left

jknjkkn FAST CAR is not a country song. :deadbanana4: Luke Combs' cover is literally an exact replica of Tracy Chapman's.

 

"Fast Car" is literally also one of the biggest folk songs of all time. :deadbanana4:

But the success of Luke Combs' Fast Cast cover is not indicative of anything when - again - Fast Car is already one of the biggest folk songs in modern music. Tracy's original literally has 700M streams on Spotify! :toofunny3: Many covers of it - from country-tinged to house music - have been successful. "Love Yourself" by Bieber in 2015 similarly slightly ripped it off.

 

It's like Latto sampling Fantasy. It's not some unknown song that doesn't carry weight to it.

Part of this is due to 04 July Holiday though. Many of those songs skew Country.

Ironically, this is subject matter common to many Country songs sung by women. But I get the feeling most of her fans wouldn't want her to make this format/genre switch.

You're wanting to debate a point I have no interest in. You stated the #2 song in the US was a country song - I simply corrected that it's a very famous folk song being covered by a country artist. And the success of said cover is very much influenced by the immense success and cultural impact of the original. Again, the original "Fast Car" quite literally has more streams on Spotify than any Luke Combs song, and Tracy's a black sapphic folk artist who debuted in the 80s and who hasn't released an album in over 15 years. :toofunny3:

 

There could be more country songs in the Top 100 on Spotify USA for all I know, but I also have a hunch that they're probably overwhelmingly by the same artist - Morgan Wallen.

Very true but the quick discount was the last hope. Honestly #1 means nothing for a week ask Levitating.

"Last Night" is Morgan Wallen on autopilot, it'd be a shame if it blocked Olivia's song from #1.
