It’s insane how La Haine was released over 25+ years ago and the same issues that film spoke about it, is still happening today.

I saw it only this year and must say one of the best movies, like you said it's insane how how contemporary certain themes are

No it's YOU that need to wake up also are you living in France ? If not tu peux la fermer imbécile

Police is not perfect and has a lot of flaws but it's not the one burning , looting ,attacking and blocking half of the country

Since you are so confident that the police is **** and these looters nice why are you not coming in France ? Would be wonderful for you to experience this and give us an amazing feedback, spoiler you will probably switch side to stay alive

Look I'm sorry if this incident (and so many others of its kind) make you feel less safe about yourself and the ones you care for, but if you think the rioters are doing what they are doing because they want to inflict pain upon others out of malice or derangement or whatever, then you are simply incorrect. You may disagree with their means, that's fine, but these kind of reactions are born out of deep insatisfaction over the way crucial social issues are being handed by the people in power.

The police is not there to protect you, that's not their mission. Their mission is to protect the ruling class and the status quo, both of which are at odds with the needs of the working class, of whom the rioters are part of.

And lol at the last part of your post. I live in the global south, my country suffers from numerous issues caused by countries in the global north aka the imperial core, of which yours is part of. I am confident in saying that I know more about struggle than you and regardless of that I can still empathize with you considering you are also part of the working class, I'm assuming.

Saying the police is ''not perfect'' is a huge euphemism and I hope that you will realize one day that they are not and probably will never be on your side.

It's very obvious when these things happen due to people genuinely being mournful and wanting change, as opposed to when people just want an excuse to act like hooligans, loot, and riot. Libraries are being burned, civilian property is being vandalised, and stores are being looted... none of these people actually care about "injustice"; they just want an excuse to act wild and steal. People online won't fully admit that because they have psyoped themselves into thinking that being uncivilised idiots running around acting crazy is the way for the government to take them seriously.

A “working class” protest that destroys small businesses, public buses, zoos, libraries, sets cars on fire (who do you think owns the cars that are parked in a banlieue? Macron and Blackrock Executives?), looted over 200 supermarkets in one night (I wonder who will be the one cleaning that up?) and defaces Holocaust memorials :rip: all the while even the shot teenager's mom says she doesn't blame the police at large, only the office who shot him

Just saw someone with both their hands chopped off, apparently for wanting to protect their car from looters and rioters

wtf :frown:

Despite not being European, I anticipate that those defending this act of vandalism will once again express astonishment when Europe experiences a surge in far-right support within the coming months. :giraffe:

The way you bend over backwards and type essays to make excuses for people who just want to burn the world down, just say you’re an anarchist so everyone here can ignore you.  Protesters are not arsonists and looters, the protesters will protect you while the anarchists will set your working class apartment complex on fire.

Well no surprise if Le Pen takes advantage of this and this is what finally tips the National Front to power.

I have nothing to add until the time of their next election cycle and will defer to the people from France here then.

you don't even know what an ''anarchist'' is :lmao: good luck getting me to engage with you when you expose yourself so easily as a bad faith actor like that :heart2:

which class do you think the people who are doing this belong to? quickly

did I say they are doing things in the best way to achieve the change they want?

These riots will do lasting and permanent damage to the working class in France. Huge amounts of infrastructure were and will be destructed, much of it will not be rebuilt, and what will be rebuilt will be paid for by the working class who barely has enough money to cover their monthly food expenses. The amount of lives lost and hospital bills racked up alone are unfathomable. It takes a spectacular lack of foresight to not see that. These people would not hesitate for one second to set fire to the “working class” building that you live in.

Meanwhile the police officer who killed the teen was immediately put in jail and charged with murder.

edit: and since you asked, the vast majority of these people are definitely not “working” class. No one who has ever depended on a job to put food on the table would be stupid enough or have the time to set fires to hospitals at 2am, send snapchats bragging about it to their friends and stand with an uncovered face in front of video cameras
