luckythisway Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Just looked at the full list of nominees and this is the best lineup across all categories I’ve seen in a while? Perched for Grammys night, rooting for SZA & Lana the most 1

Angels Like You deserves but the grammys is weird when it comes to pop rock / arena rock sometimes

Aiya Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 (edited) I Can see SZA, BG and Billie sweeping tbh. Edited November 10, 2023 by Aiya

BrokenMachine Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 "Best Song Written For Visual Media" being one Black Panther song in the middle of four Barbie songs
Almodusa Posted November 10, 2023 Author Posted November 10, 2023 (edited) Best Song Written for Visual Media fun fact: Barbie: The Movie now holds the record with most nominations for a single project with 4. With 3: Waiting to Exhale ("Exhale (Shoop Shoop)," "It Hurts Like Hell" & "Count On Me") With 2: Suicide Squad ("Heathens" & "Purple Lamborghini"), Fifty Shades of Grey ("Love Me Like You Do" & "Earned It"), Enchanted ("That's How You Know" & "Ever Ever After"), Cold Mountain ("You Will Be My Ain True Love" & "The Scarlet Tide"), The Bodyguard ("I Have Nothing" & "Run to You"), Jungle Fever ("Jungle Fever" & "Gotta Have You"), Dick Tracy ("More" & "Sooner or Later), Aladdin ("A Whole New World" & "Friend Like Me"), The Lion King ("Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" & "Circle of Life"), The Hunger Games ("Safe & Sound" & Abraham's Daughter") Out of all these, only The Hunger Games & Aladdin were able to overcome a vote split ("Safe & Sound" & "A Whole New World"). A Star Is Born (2018) also got 2 noms ("Shallow" & "I'll Never Love Again"), but they were in separate years (and won both). Edited November 10, 2023 by Almodusa
BrokenMachine Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 (edited) Lila Downs and Natalia Lafourcade getting nominated Edited November 10, 2023 by BrokenMachine 1
Ikejuju Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 I’m am upset and shocked that RAYE didn’t get even one nomination. 1
chiliam Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Taylor should get pop vocal album and SOTY, its about damn time Sza can snatch AOTY ROTY go to Flower I remember everything should win those noms in country category. I currently check out Victoria Money album and its so good. Gonna check boygenius album later.
Space&Time Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Oh, Victoria Monét is taking it! This is her breakout moment!!! 1
Bad_vocal_technique Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 I hope Taylor doesn’t win album of the year. Lol

Her chances at AOTY are good imo… the pop/alternative albums will split the vote and Jon Batiste just won recently They SCREAMED at us that it was RAP song. Someone link the posts in the singles thread.
Bad_vocal_technique Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Who told the Grammy voters Miley’s album was acclaimed? 1
Raspberries Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Karma (Remix) is definitely winning Duo/Group. The other songs in that category are khias and that category usually goes to a hit
pxxxtrick Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Loving so many of these noms. Very happy to see On My Mama!

luckythisway Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Wait the Zach Bryan shutout is not cool at all but I expected it, as the Nashville KKKountry gatekeepers have it out for him since he doesn’t suck their d!cks
KatyPrismSpirit Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Ive never been happier with Grammy nomination reveal tbh. So many good songs and album. Every category is FIRE.
BlueTimberwolf Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Country music being shut out when it's arguably the biggest genre of the last two years shows there is a disconnect between the voters and the public. Nobody was checking for Janelle and Baptise this year despite the promo. And there are too many pop girls getting in when average voter is still a bunch of old white men. Something feels off here. 2
