BNF91 Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Utterly insane performance by JFAD. What a bomb. Not much else to say. No need to dwell, because November/December is about to be crazy. Gladiator 2 is seeing strong presales, while Wicked is smashing. And Moana 2... Is seeing better pace than Inside Out 2 in many trackers data. Although that comes with a caveat because it is a Tuesday release which skews tracking. But it is looking huge.
Chiidish Posted November 3 Posted November 3 This was a dud year but Babygirl coming to CLEAN things up. Gonna need Challengers and Babygirl for me blu-ray collection expeditiously
Gorjesspazze9 Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Disney really about to have the top 3 movies of the Year Inside out 2, Deadpool 3, and now Moana 2
fridayteenage Posted November 8 Posted November 8 movies this year with 80 metascore & $20 mil US challengers wild robot. though challengers lost money with that big budget...

sciencemagic Posted November 9 Posted November 9 does anyone have thoughts on Juror #2? Just saw it today and enjoyed it, but box office numbers will be so weird because the release is super limited -- like only 35 theaters nationwide or something?

Gorjesspazze9 Posted November 10 Posted November 10 I'm going to see Gladiator 2 opening weekend. Looks Very cinematic. I'm not really a wicked person, so I'll wait for digital. I expect it to be a smash tho. Moana probably gonna be one of the biggest movies of the 2020's tbh. I can see it crossing a billion before January

Not familiar with its cinema release though but I was hoping it could be a sleeper hit like The Substance (definitely on a minor scale). Nicholas Hoult is outstanding in it. 1
Da Vinci Posted November 16 Posted November 16 I've never cared about The Wizard of Oz franchise let alone Wicked in my life but even I'm getting intrigued by the concept and bits of the plot of the musical that I've been stumbling upon I also heard bits of Defying Gravity and Popular from memes and stuff but Ariana's snippet of the latter is really really good and entices me even more to watch the movie We might be getting 2024's Barbie (in spirit, not specifically the numbers but who knows), the fanbase is also huge, the second biggest musical behind The Lion King and the novelty factor + star power are there, much like Barbie last year 1

BMURDA617 Posted November 19 Posted November 19 Wicked's word of mouth is going to be insane. Predicting long legs for sure.

It looks like what IMAX is made for. Need more movies to not look like streaming shows again 1

Gorjesspazze9 Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Also there were literally like 4 vampire trailers before my imax gladiator show. 2025 seems like it's gonna be a Vamp year. Lol
ctlp27 Posted November 24 Posted November 24 G2 narrative will be helped by international gross because that OW is nothing spectacular. Dare I say many fell hard on Joker 2 and its only 20 M$ more for a higher budget pre-marketing.
fridayteenage Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Gladiator made under half a billion, and its sequel decades later swapped out the cast for a character driven story...

Adjusted Gladiator did at least 825 M$ and with that insane budget it will really need international to save up. Similar path as Venom 3.
