The ads for this have been horrible and make Captain Marvel seem like such an a-hole.  Don't know who this movie is even for.

The MCU is over. They need to just speed up F4 and X Men, that’s what the people really want

People in here saying this is not surprising, GIRL the sequel to a film that opened at $150M and went on to gross $1.1B opening less than $50M is more than shocking. I honestly don't think we can fully blame the strike either since FNAF just proved with a strong fanbase any film can smash. Granted, if the reviews are glowing and audience scores are great then these numbers could easily go up. But opening less than Black Adam and The Flash is certainly not good for the MCU especially since I don't think this will be their only bomb in the next two years.

Wait, do you think people went to the first Capitain Marvel movie to see her? Because people went to the cinemas interested on what the movie would show about End Game. That’s why the movie was a huge hit. And let’s be real here…. Even after such a big hit, where are the Capitain Marvel fans? Who would be a fan of a such boring character like her, anyway? They tried to create the “female bad boy” and created the most insufferable character possible.

Not shocking. NO ONE wants this. Captain Marvel sucked, Wandavision sucked, Ms. Marvel sucked. Why would we want to watch this wack ass team up?

"Superhero" movie genre isn't the problem. It's that they're NOT giving us what we want. The Multiverse saga had so much potential, so much storylines to play with..but they completely fumbled it.

Absolutely agree with this. This film truly feels like you had homework to do to understand where the hell do the other two Marvels come from. And tbh they didn't make enough noise out of their respective series.

 

While I don't think that if retitled as Captain Marvel 2 would've made 1 billion again because of the misogynistic campaign Marvel incels have against Brie Larson, it would've performed slightly better than the incoming disaster. And this just further proves that superhero fatigue exists.

Yes it’s an emergency, and without promo from the actors barely anyone knows that this film is coming out next weekend, there’s more hype for the Hunger Games film and Wonka.

 

Also I’m a casual MCU fan who enjoys and has seen all the films, but I barely know who’s the main villain in the film??? Like I just know that they mixed a side character of Wandavision + the girl from the Miss Marvel show and Nick Fury but what’s interesting about that? How does this tie to the Kang whatever plot they are doing? If Phase 4 was messy Phase 5 is just all over the place GotG3 was it’s own thing, then we had Secret Invasion, then Loki 2 and now this thing and I just don’t feel like it’s cohesive or interesting.

 

The fact that the own director dropped the film to focus on another project…

 

People enjoy and like CBM but when they have quality and great production value, The Batman just did almost $800M on its own, GotG did $840M too… but people won’t be fooled with flops like Antman 3 and Thor 4.

Not everyone can build a loyal huge fanbase and receive huge acclaim like Wanda MAXimoff 

 

 

Poor Captain Crunch can’t even support her own sequel.

I have two tickets booked for Friday and I am excited to watch this! I am also not buying all of this “nobody went to see Captain Marvel for Captain Marvel” BS as I sure the **** did.

 

I thought Captain Marvel was great fun and I’ve actually rewatched it a few times since seeing it in the cinema. That 90s soundtrack was also stellar!
