It’s crazy, Barbie was tracking a modest $45-50 million dollar opening initially only to soar.

Elementals missed the 3M mark with a 2.7M  opening weekend in Japan. It opened stereotypically like in most other markets. Japan better show longevity. If it increases next weekend the chances for a close $500M are solid.

$424M so far. #justiceforElementals.

These predictions were actually ridicolous since was clearly the most talked movie of the year. I mean even if i was very positive of course i didn't see 160M opening coming, not before the pre Sales ar least, but 80-90M were there with the hype.

Mess, of course this is a massive success. This movie doing this much in less than 3 weeks is literally insane and a game changer for the industry. If this was movie was made half-***ed this would not have made 1/4 of what this one will make. The MCU, biggest franchise ever is literally struggling to do these #s.

That user has no idea how Hollywood works. Huge marketing is the norm for big movies and it does NOT guarantee big box office numbers

the mean/weighted avg on imdb is in the 7s.

the rt audience score is 80something%.

 

The people I've seen actively genuinely upset at the movie are the ones who don't think nuclear bomb memes are funny. 

and/or don't like the movie's ideas of what china should have sovereignty over.

Blue Beetle is pulling better views in YT than The Flash did. I know that those numbers can be completely misleading but it's an interesting point. 

Also the budget is only $120M, so I am skeptical on some predictions that it's going to be a massive bomb.

Blue Beetles Thursday night previews are apparently tracking more than Shazam’s. If BB is well reviewed then it might do ok.
