I don't get all this discussion about the marketing costs of this movie.

They are making normal things as co branding merchandising (Who actually Is not a cost but It's a way to make more money).

Then what are they doing It's strange?.

90% of the marketing of this movie has been made for free from people on the internet :chick1:

I’m positive Barbie will open over $100M. It’s inevitable at this rate

Very very excited for Barbie and feel optimistic that the film can over-perform!

I'm also excited for Oppenheimer but in a different way. I do think both have the potential to be critical darlings (Barbie with its satire and style and Oppenheimer with social commentary and scope.)

Not really shocking. That's like Mario vs. Tenet.

Dua Lipa's Barbie is gonna smash I knew it

:jonny5:

Imagine if it has a smash soundtrack too or at least one iconic hit song that Barbie deserves.

Deadline is known for lowballing too. Gonna keep my expectations in check as it’s still early but 👀

Studios need to bring the fun (and girly comedies) back. There’s a big audience for them. Stuff like Legally Blonde, Clueless etc always trend when they are on Netflix.

Yeah I feel like there is a large thirst for a revival in creative and HIGH-QUALITY lighthearted comedies (not the bad ones that gone thrown straight into streaming and serve hallmark throwaway AI-written plot)

Who could’ve guessed the Barbie movie would have a bigger opening weekend than the three hour long rated R nuclear bomb historical drama? I’m shocked!!

Looking forward to both movies though :eatpopcorn:

Well, we had several ATRL self-proclaimed experts claiming so. Some even saying Barbie would end up 3rd behind M.I. Can’t say I’m surprised when our experts are wrong
