Is it confirmed that Barbie has grossed over 300M WW in its opening weekend?

isn't this already Greta Gerwig who somehow managed to get a mid remake of tired Little Women (like, the 6th iteration?) to 90+ on MC.

Mid? :clownny:

How Elemental go from having one of Pixar’s worst openings to now pushing $400M?

I know that’s still horrible for Pixar standards, but impressive legs.

Without any IMAX or premium formats. These numbers are insane. Staying nearly flat on Sunday from the true Friday makes me think this is going for $500M domestic.

Oppenheimer doing brilliant especially for a movie like this (and its R-18) :clap3:

Barbie is expected to do amazing, and so happy movies are doing so well right now

Mission Impossible is super great, sad it's going to be overshadowed by Barbenheimer.

Elemental will likely go $400M, the longevity is impressive!

The run has been a bit of a disaster in Japan, it keeps dropping every weekend and MI7 just took it for the top spot.

The GP never go to the movies en masse just to see an actor specifically. If that was the case then EVERY movie with that actor would be a massive box office hit. The GP go to the movies because they're interested in the movie itself for one reason or another, not the actors themselves.

This true now, but certain big actors did use to be box office players. In the past there was a way bigger market for unknown IP or original films, romcoms, dramas, action films, and a lot of the time it was the names on the posters the ones that draw attention to a film. Then of course quality and WoM have always played a huge part.

Comes out on Thursday, so there's a major studio movie we should keep a eye on (and the next Disney bomb of the year!)

Right? Some people in this thread proving my point :rip:

Paramount kind of ****** up with Mission Impossible’s release date but at the same time no one really expected Barbenheimer to end up being this massive. Not even the most optimistic.

Which goes to my point that there was no halo effect from the success ofTop Gun: Maverick.

Is the 7th sequel supposed to outpeak the previous works?

Especially in this climate with all the factors counted such as the competition, the strike and the China's market shift which was essential for this piece?

Wish it could hit $167 just so it can surpass BVS.
