Mr. Duff Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Ouch, that's underwhelming. I watched it and I really liked it, although I understand that it's not a movie with mass appeal. To be honest it could have been a movie for awards because acting is great, both Rob and Naomi delivered. I don't think it's a movie that's meant to be a blockbuster so I'm pretty confused by the big budget.
kimberly Posted March 9 Posted March 9 (edited) before seeing the budget I was actually very impressed by the opening weekend numbers were people expecting this to mirror Wicked at box office? I generally enjoyed the film. Parasite it is not, but it's a very solid first viewing. Maybe it'll have good word of mouth. Edit: Or maybe not 2 minutes ago, Europe said: It got a B cinemascore, so be weary Edited March 9 by kimberly

Mariah4life Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I was highly disappointed with mickey 17. it dragged and the there was literally no meaningful storyline development. at least robert was eye candy but that's all i can say
DanyelP23 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I was highly pleased with Mickey 17. It didn't drag, and there was a meaningful storyline development. In all honesty, I really liked it. TO ME, this was like a high concept version of The Martian but way more funny and dark and less basic. Also, I feel like everyone in the ensemble carried even though Rob and Naomi were easily the standouts. Miss Pattinson should 'I was a popcorn actor' his way to a Comedy Golden Globe win and a surprise Oscar nom
Gorjesspazze9 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Looks Like Lilo&Stitch is about to be Huge. first true Hit of the year. Not Disney about to have another Smasha 3

Vin Posted March 15 Posted March 15 "Mickey 17" flopping? That's what you get for casting Robert Pattinson. He's literally had only one hit film outside the "Twilight" franchise, and that was "The Batman," another franchise. Robert Pattinson isn't talented enough as an actor or interesting enough as a person to lead a film. Tom Holland isn't a talented actor either, but at least he has a personality. ...Vin 1 2
coney island Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I went out to see Mickey 17 today with some friends. I was surprised at some of the things in it, and it was a lot better than I anticipated. I really liked it.

I don't think it's a movie that's meant to be a blockbuster so I'm pretty confused by the big budget. It's definitely not meant for awards. The acting is great, but overall it is quite underwhelming. It has an interesting premise, yet the whole story is so bland, ultimately your basic Hollywood good-against-evil. Its flopping does not mean it was not intended for mass appeal. I was kinda disappointed since this is Bong Joonho's first cinematic project since his Oscar win. With its premise, I expected them to explore a whole lot more depth. 3

I couldn't believe this was the same director that gave Parasite and The Host. It clearly lacked a solid point of view. It felt saccharine and dissonant at the same time. Thanks! You coherently sum up what I meant to review! I wish they explored more depth on topics like egos and identities instead of whatever is this final product. 2
Shinkirou Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I watched Black Bag and it was very entertaining. But it has Cate Blanchet in underwear, but no Michael Fassbender shirtless scene? Not even a tight shirt? No wonder it's flopping at the box office and with audience scores.

Dramathon Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I will not stand for any Mickey 17 slander! We need original sci-fi blockbusters in theaters!!! Plus Robert and Naomi killed their roles. 4 1
