Olivia Rodrigo - 'GUTS'

Cute album. No growth from Sour but not every artist’s release is gonna be that. Think that commentary comes from it being the 2nd album of a popular artist. I liked ‘love is embarrassing’ the most, followed by ‘pretty isn’t pretty’ (which the intro and the chorus really did sound like Ghost nn). Vampire would round out the top 3. Ballad of a homeschooled girl’s chorus… there was something off about it that brought down the song for me. Maybe the tempo of it, idk.

No, they are predicting 170-190M streams, that equals 130-145k SEA. And 120k pure sales.

I dont see the breakdown on HDD. Did they reveal

those numbers are also initial predictions

That doesn't mean it's gonna increase.

You all need to understand Sour was a phenomenon, not every album of her is gonna perform the same.

Thats based off one day numbers though. Did they factor the promo off it? Doubt it

Promo (vmas included) have barely an effect in 2023.

these BB200 numbers will grow. both for her & V (because they’d organize mass buying, but ofc it’ll fall short because 250k is just too far to reach). i think livies will also try to push for 300k. it’s a small fandom but kinda impressive really for just a short time + there were loyal swifties who dropped her.

They say this:

Quote

Olivia Rodrigo's sophomore album, GUTS (Geffen), will debut at #1 on Friday's HITS Top 50. On-demand audio streams are tracking to a first week total of 170-190m.

Wrong. Time and time has proven that Olivia is a promo sensitive artist when she performs ala Meghan/Alessia Cara etc

Who knows how the album will hold up in a week. Thats why promo can help and will be necessary

After checking out some local charts, it’s so obvious that what’s lacking this era is the support of South East Asian countries. Those countries can easily add at least 10M streams if they supported this era like how they supported Sour. :dies:  I guess she alienated them with the back-to-back pop rock singles.

damnit Philippines, you betrayed our girl.. only 2 songs in the Top 50 is unacceptable. :dies:

anyway, she can easily win them back with tour dates in there. :dancehall:

and when she does a one minute The Buzz  "Fast Talk" Segment w/ Boy Abunda

The whole country will worship ha! and love ha again!

I don’t think The Grudge is about Taylor but that’s def why it’s doing disproportionately well compared to other songs

she would be silly to not make it track 13 on the tour setlist tho

They say 170-190M streams in their article and that's around 130-145k SEA. So the rest are pure sales.

Aside from the actual tour date, she needs to spend couple of days in there and promote promote promote..She needs to win back our brothers and sisters. It’s one of the biggest streaming countries in the world. :dancehall:

It’s social suicideeeeeeeee!! The way i hated this song on the first listen and now I’m obsessed.mp3 with it. :jonny:

the ballads get more addictive the more you listen to them. they’re even more sadder than SOUR’s if i’m being honest :jonny4:

These little events & pop-ups for the fans are pretty cute, the promo obviously isn't any better than SOUR's but at least it's something :clap3:
