Britney Spears Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 All good things come to an end. Forever grateful for all the amazing bops the label has produced over the years. GFOTYBUCKS remains the best musical project ever released. 1
original_lifeline Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 Clearing by HYD made them go bankrupt, wbk
Into The Void Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 why did i think this had to do with politically correct music and not an actual label i never heard of

I did, of course) It's such an ugly album at first but when it clicks it clicks. The vocals are just hard to swallow sometimes.
Troll Idle Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 So Hannah Diamond will just be an influencer from that on?
JustHoran Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 Are they local? Never heard of them in the US ever. Not once.

Overall, I think this is a good thing. They've really started making inroads with the mainstream, and this will allow them all to expand more and actually make the big vision come to life.

British label originally but they won the hearts of the alt-pop queer scene and straight music nerds around the globe. Their label CEO produced a lot for Charli XCX. Other than that you really have to be interested in that kind of music to recognize the names, to be fair. Fun fact: His fave Britney song (and one of my Top 5) is Trip To Your Heart 1
Uncatena Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 truly the end of an era that shaped pop music forever. nothing will ever beat being there at the beginning, it was such an iconic underground culture. the way it seeped into mainstream pop is astounding, no thanks to pioneers like SOPHIE, Danny, A. G. and so on. I wonder what the last releases will be this year.
campelo Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 AG Cook was a terrible guy, keeping a lot of artists of releasing music
Sawk Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 I don’t think she was PC, but she was adjacent and SOPHIE really was everything
americanlife Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 Sad, but PC Music and hyper pop haven’t been the same since SOPHIE’s passing. When SOPHIE died, hyperpop died.

Yeah, I enjoy the first 100gecs album but the way hyperpop became this cheeto-dusty Blink182 punk-rock infused... thing. It's like the frat boys infested the genre after finding out about it 8 years too late nnnn
Blue Jeans Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 Just ordered the compilation volumes 1,2,3 on vinyl. What an iconic time in music. This was the most exciting sound in the last few years and affected my music taste. It’s like a frankesteined electronic post pop sound that is meant to be satirical but also guilty pleasure. Who is the next to push pop music forward after them? It will be interesting to see and may take many years

UK based but extremely well known for most pop/left field pop fans all over the world, what is your age out of curiosity? Not trying to call you a granny or anything but they are extremely well known among Gen Z and younger millennials for originating what's known as "hyperpop".

It seems tho that they weren't that much efficient of a label tbh

SOPHIE, A.G., Hannah, Charli and practically everyone else were born in the '80s and '90s, so it's nothing to do with age and more to do with being interested in niche genres. "Hyperpop" itself is not that well known among most Gen Z and millennials.
