I wonder who would’ve taken #1 had him and Olivia released the same day!? Me thinks Olivia

Drake will probably double her first week.

What in gods name is he wearing?

a slaughterhouse outfit in reference to Slaughter Gang, as this is towards the end of the show when he shares the stage with 21 Savage.

Ever since he got that $500M deal he has become so sloppy with his rollouts, why is he releasing a single at noon?

Oh LOL. I was kind of hoping for an Alejandro reference

I just pray they don't **** up the vocal production on this Drake x SZA collab, since some of the songs on HL and SOS sounded like they were recorded through a potato. Bring back that pristine TC/NWTS production.

Drake …. idk about this album. Lemme hope the rest of the album slaps bc what is this.

Like I’m not understanding the motive behind this project? First 2 singles are tryhard attempts of making another Take Care. Based on the title I thought FATD was gonna be an uptempo hype rap album w/ collabs of his closest friends (young & old) in the industry — thats what I get for assuming. :spin:

S&R and now this (+ that snippet that's floating around) leaves me worried for how the album's gonna be. He's still capable of great stuff (Sticky, his verses on Meltdown and Churchill Downs, many of the cuts on CLB and HL), but the quality control - which was already pretty iffy - has completely derailed this year. Is there no one on his team who can tell him "hey, maybe don't sing this in such a high pitch" or "how about you choose a song with an actual melody for the SZA collab?"?

I have no doubt I will be taking some songs from the album (like I do from all his projects), but this is not a promising start. :gaycat6:

50% of me believes since Scorpion, he stop caring about success bc hes the face of 2010s hip hop. And since then, he puts out albums/collabs to put on new artists or give them exposure in the industry (bc we all know Drake knows everybody :skull:).

Other 50% of mine is irked cause since he kinda entertained the idea of retiring I don’t want him to go out this this…. I’m sure when that day comes he will drop a smash but the marketing & creative direction of this, Honestly Nevermind, CLB, and DLDT been very sporadic and uninspired a bit + don’t help when he hypes an album for months in advance. :rip:

Someone in his position with the hype, acclaim, connects, longevity, etc. We need more masterpieces with well thought out concepts.

idk about retirement but he would benfit from not releasing so often. like maybe give a 5 year break at this point because he has been releasing albums nonstop.mp3 now :rip:

If Search & Rescue / Slime You Out are any indication, this may be his worst album by a mile.

I feel like it has a lot to with him chasing charts, streams, etc. plus the rap comm. being oversaturated; so like every artists (esp the young, new, and underrated names) look to him as the key to get a hit or make a mark in the industry. So demands plays a role too but he should use that to his advantage to develop stronger content. :michael:

Mess. Releases a boring single from the album and then now he delays it. Im losing my hype for this

I swear he said the album was already finished? I think he just doesn't want to drop while on tour.

Maybe he wants to release it a little later to put more focus on himself. I see Drake being petty enough to also want to occupy the entire top 10 like Taylor did but he won't be able to when PTTR is getting an album boost from 'Scarlet' release :rip:

Maybe you are right. And after his new single reached #1 on spotify after just 12 hours I won't be surprised if he does, he wants that full top 10 :rip:

he will get the entire top 10 if he drops oct 6th. charts are very weak now. 'Her Loss' occupied 9/10 of the Hot 100 top 10. It failed to occupy the entire top 10 because Anti-Hero was smashing hard. For All The Dogs has remarkably more hype than Her Loss so he is definitely going for that 10/10.

To be the biggest streaming star on earth, he has the privilege not having to hand in an album months in advance in order for it to be pressed on vinyls or other physical means of music. He and Kanye always record until mere hours before the announced drop because they literally only have to upload it to streaming services and call it a day :rip: which also means that whenever a fresh idea pops into his head he can just push the album to whatever and still pull mega numbers
