Honestly yes. Her rise to the top was fast, but her decline was even faster.

Movie stars like Julia Roberts don’t exist anymore

Times change. Major Actors become irrelevant all the time. The general public just don’t care.

Yep. Also the 2010s was just a completely diff time compared to the 2020s. I genuinely like her but I think she kind of fizzled out and her audience moved on. I don’t think her career is over tho. She’s just at a diff stage in her career now than she was when she was the huge IT girl.

Margot Robbie? I mean she technically came after.

Nope. She doesn’t even come close to how massive J. Lawrence was. Do you remember 2012/2013? Like someone else said, things are way different now. She likely will be the last star of that kind of machine. Things are too fragmented now to ever be able to make a stars the way Hollywood used to make them. Margot is definitely huge but no where near what Jen’s fame was

She's not a bad actress but very limitated.

All the press created by her pigmalione Weinstein sold her as the Meryl Streep of her generation but She doesn't have the range. She can only make this kind of very physical performances. She is not one of these actress able to fit even her own body to a role.

Isn't she still one of the highest paid actors?

maybe, but who really cares

don’t look up did great numbers, which she led (with leo but still)

why not have a little raunchy unserious comedy under your belt, even if the box office numbers are soft I’m sure it’ll do great on digital/ be seen fondly overall

if she wanted a serious comeback in terms of box office, sue storm in fantastic 4 but I don’t think she wants to do franchises

Adult comedies are not box office hits anymore and haven't been for a long time. The film is tracking pretty well for that genre these days and has great critical/audience reviews. I don't understand the attacks against her?

Lol. Don't Look Up was a massive smash. She had an acclaimed film with Causeway last year. She's doing perfectly fine

whether her box office power waned or not, she is kind of the last movie star of the monoculture or whatever you want to call it. i can't think of a single actor as widely known as her to come after her. she will always be famous and in demand because of that.

Zendaya, Tom Holland, Margot are very widely known, may be not as much as J.Law during her peak, but these actors are widely know. And like J.Law, they struggle to enjoy success outside of big franchise.

Predictions seems more around 12-13M on a 45m budget. So not very good.

I'm sorry but Anya Taylor-joy came after and easily clears JLaw in box office power, acclaim, demand and longevity.
Jlaw’s association with Weinstein didn’t help.

No great critical reviews.

Alao reactions from première are not audience reviews. Wait for cinescore. Right now a 6.9/10 on imdb, so not a great start.

It's at 66% on RT. An adult comedy. That's great critical reviews. :skull: So again, I don't understand the attacks against her.

Good Boys, Booksmart, and Bros all have 80+ scores. Adult comedies aren’t immune to acclaim.

I never said they were... However, it's certainly much more common for them to be panned.

The obsession this site has with hating on her. I just don't get it. :rip:

Weinstein rumours, overexposure, that phase when she was rude to fans, relatability shtick ran dry, and bad movie choices
