Ugh she's such a legend, who else could be this classy and humble for 5 decades? She deserves all the success, go higher Legend.

This is SO impressive, she deserves it. :clap3: I'm kind of surprised though, I thought they pulled out the tricks last week and it barely missed Top 10, what did they do to push it this week?

She hasn’t pulled any stunt or trick to gain this top 10 which makes it all the more special. It’s risen organically. With only the original and an extended mix released so far. It’s still rising. This hasn’t peaked yet it’s only going to rise from here

How is god only smashing in the UK??? How?

Well deserved. So glad it was this song that achieved it too. Disco was cute but just didn’t have a lot to offer the masses. The Tension era is going to be so good

This is kinda unprecedented. When was the last time a female in her 50s got a hit with a NEW song?

4 Minutes? Was M even 50 then?

I didn't mean to imply the success isn't organic, but I feel like a lot of people were saying last week was it's only chance at entering the Top 10 since that's when her team gave it a good push with the CD single and even with that it just barely missed the Top 10, whereas for this week they only released an extended mix to streaming/digital, which I doubt would have made a bigger dent on the charts than the CD single. I haven't been following this too closely so I was just surprised since I got the feeling last week was it's biggest chance. Either way, it's much deserved. :clap3:

No, she was 49 when 4 Minutes and GI2M went Top 10.

Women over 50 who have gone Top 10 since the late 90s:

1998 - Cher - 52

1999 - Diana Ross - 55

1999 - Tina Turner - 59

2001 - Cher - 55

2005 - Diana Ross - 61

2009 - Madonna - 51

2023 - Kylie - 55

As you can see it was a lot easier back then due to physical singles still being around

All are impressive but Kylie doing it in the streaming era followed by Madonna doing it in the digital era are the most impressive IMO.

It was Celebration in 2009. In the UK that's Madonna's last proper hit song. Although I think Popular might become a hit, it's doing quite well so far.

This is crazy Im so excited for her! A hag 4 decades in the industry launching a Top 10 on her OWN with no remixes and whatnot :jonny4:

She released an extended remix actually.

Well this is not really true. She released cassettes, had some competition to win signed copies if you buy physicals on her website, she released a second video that was originally only available to download on her website and she had huge exposure from the performance at Capital Ball one of the UKs biggest summmer festivals. Kylie and her label have been working hard to make this song a success. It would have dropped in week 2 without all the extras. It has paid off and I am delighted for her, but let us not pretend as if she didn't work for it.

If the song wouldn’t show signs of taking off they wouldn’t invest in it like with every single she released this past decade

It literaly jumped to no 12 because of the physicals.

It would still be 14-16 without the 1,500 physical copies you know
