Halsey has signed with Columbia Records. The move comes just two months after the singer parted ways with her longtime label, Capitol Music Group.

Of course Flowers had several other factors at play, but Columbia is a well-managed label (especially when compared with Capitol), so I feel like she'll get at least one chance at a hit again. I honestly thought she'd go to Republic just to stay in the UMG-sphere, but Columbia is a good choice for her.

Why are people dragging her over the 25M movie thing?

 

Its hard to believe the movie cost 25M when even a lot of Hollywood movies with an A List lead (who requires a huge salary) cost way less than 25M

 

A star is born cost 36M and had two A-list leads to pay and the remaining cast and crew, location expenses, set expenses etc.

 

Triangle of Sadness -- Budget $15M

Bombshell (starring three A-list lead actresses) -- Budget $30M

Pitch Perfect -- Budget $12M

Hustlers (starring Jennifer Lopez) -- Budget $20M

 

The rumours of Halsey's movie making Halsey's label lose 25M have to be untrue.

Plssss I'm screaming at everyone kiing at her being "dropped by Capitol for being a flop" only for her to sign with one of the biggest and best labels right now. Huge radio + streaming push coming for her next lead dd.

 

I just hope she gives us something like IICHL instead of releasing something safe like Flowers and working with Harry's stale and boring producers.
