Jay T Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Sza sitting pretty at #7 in the us on Spotify despite being released 7 months before. While Miley's comeback single "Flowers" which was centered around relationship drama is sitting at #25. Miley is also nowhere to be found on Apple Music while sza remains top 40. Does this officially end the talks that "flowers" is a bigger hit than kill bill in the states? Is it clear that Miley has Liam to thank for the front-loaded success of her comeback single?
bad guy Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 No need to downplay Flowers' success. It's clearly not front-loaded by any means As far as SZA, no I'm not surprised. Kill Bill and SOS are SOTY and AOTY, respectively 5
Walk_Away21 Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 SZA is touring for her album and Miley was more global. End thread.
Hot Volcano Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 What a dumb and unecessary thread Both are massive smash hits, KB outlasting it in the US, doesn't make it a bigger hit, cuz Flowers clearly had a bigger peak. 1
Arthoe Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 "Why is this one song, that broke several records in commercial performance now doing better than this other song that has also broken several records in commercial performance." It's kinda funny how every stan war is literally just a mad lib where you just have to change the name of the artists 5
CottageHore Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Two of my faves and two talented women smashing! Not sure why we need to make threads like this to prove any point, just say you hate women and move on!
Fastlane Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 "Flowers" is still all-format airplay number-one song for 16 consecutive weeks. They both huge in US.
Sawk Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 The better song won SZA’s (artistic inspiration and cultural cross referencing genius song) longevity >>> Miley’s shorter-lived peak (which was higher, I admit that)
MusicLoverDude Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Both are massive hits but Kill Bill is a slower burner than Flowers. Flowers still has a ton of radio which still weighs too heavily on the Hot 100 1
Scars Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 (edited) The fact that you had to keep mentioning that the thread is about US-only stats to try to make your point says enough. Embarrassing. Both songs are huge hits, but Kill Bill has the edge in the US. That said, those US streams aren't enough to change the fact that Flowers is the bigger hit worldwide. Congrats to SZA though! Edited June 7, 2023 by Scars 3 1
naval23 Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Kill Bill was definitely bigger in the USA sans radio But Miley takes it globally on top of being a huge hit in the USA as well
UnusualBoy Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Flowers being frontloaded while it's #2 on the Hot 100 after 20 weeks KB had just better longevity in US in the streaming area, that was known already...
seancarter Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Flowers is literally top 40 on apple music.. where did you get nowhere to be found. ? this thread should be close cause it's filled with inaccuracies and lies.. what are the facts is that Flowers rose to #2 on the Hot 100 while SZA is down to #6... Flowers is the #1 song on US Radio for the 16th week now... so it's highly debatable which song is bigger in the U.S... and if we go out of the US it's not even close.
Cryptique Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 rnb song lasting longer in the US this Era is pretty common i think Both are HUGE SMASHES no matter how you spin it
PoisonedIvy Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 1. This thread is dumb y’all need to stop comparing women 2. flowers did NOT come out 7 months after Kill Bill, in fact wasnt it only like 2 or 3??
Kylizzle Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 "Unnecessary thread" cried the ATRLers before arriving to their 12th rehash of Gaga vs Katy and Beyonce vs Everyone threads for the week. 1
PurrKaty Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 You do know that Flowers has way outsold Kill Bill. Flowers was #13 in sales last week and Kill Bill didn’t even crack the top 50. Regardless I love both songs, but they both are stronger in different fields…
Into The Void Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Both are huge hits no matter how u spin this narrative

Flowers was January 13 (I share my birthday with Liam so trust me I remember)
