kinda glad its prohibitively expensive icl

companies like Apple clearly don't give af about the psychological, long term impact these products could have on ppl and the way they socialize. and it doesn't take a tech genius to be able to foresee that happening

Apple devices don't have decent ad blockers everything is locked down by apple. I imagine one will have to close ads to even poo while wearing these :gaycat1:

MacOS and iOS have had fantastic ad blockers for over a decade.  A 5 second google search would have sufficed.

I'm gonna say this product will flop. It's expensive and in the grand scheme of things, it's a media consumption device... not like you can be productive and get work done on it. As it stands, it's too niche.

They're insane if they think this is going to be some type of top seller. I absolutely love the concept and do think it would be an incredible piece of equipment, but this is out of reach for the average consumer.

Waiting for iJustine's review

This looks like it would give me a migraine that lasts 2 whole days

Looks nice but that price, no ma'am.

I'm still skeptical about this because all we saw were basically renderings of its use in the keynote.  Is it truly that crisp and seamless?

I guess I'd need to try it out for myself to truly believe if it's worth or it.

It's kinda crazy how 5-10 years ago I would think of that being nothing more than just a fancy prototype/concept and far beyond what technology can do. But the fact that this is a real product about to be made widely available is just wild. Makes me wonder what new tech in 10 years will be like :wanda:

But yeah even if it was successful I would still wait until the 3rd/4th generation when prices would ideally be somewhat affordable due to more competition and wider choice imo

People could have said the exact same thing when mobile phone was first introduced. I mean, it's true, but it's an integral part of daily life now

according to everyone who got a demo, yes, there is virtually zero lag from what you are seeing

also, everyone is saying the eye tracking to select items is super accurate, it seems magical :jonnycat:

$3500 is too much. It'll be very niche with this price :coffee2:

playstation vr2 is like $600 max but of course it has more functions targeting the productivity field :deadbanana2: but $3500? damn that's more expensive than 2 macbook pros

That price with current inflation is not gonna work… :rip:

the cost of the first very Mac in todays price would be 7K

I heard reports that this cost close to 3K just to make so they're not making much of a profit

still, im sure it will completely sell out at launch

Not $3.5K with tethered battery fanny pack :skull:

it looks ugly and primitive protruding in front of your face. Meta Quest 3 seems like its going to be thinner and 3k cheaper.

i don't know, I think the VR headsets are still giving version of nintendo virtual boy. They wont really take off until they're the size of sunglasses.

I've had that for like 15 years  They seem more interested in describing the ads vs blocking them though :michael:

The eye tracing technology is insane. I been watching more tech reviews on it, and it seems like this type of technology will become mainstream in a year. I am more interested in that one aspect than this whole device. I didn’t think I’d live long enough to see the Minority Report/Ironman tech being commercially available 🤯 and this is just the first Gen.

It looks cool and all, I just think having to wear that big ass headset seems annoying and looks weird :deadbanana:

I'll be so down for this once the manage to pack it into a pair of contact lenses though :duca:

If anyone is interested, University College London has free to download facial navigation and in-air multitouch software

I’ve been using them for years and get zero ads on my iPhone, not my problem :coffee2:
