The usage of samples here is atrocious.

 

It sounds like (and I'm sure that's exactly what happened) this whole record was finished mixing like the day before the official release. You can even tell how different the mixes are between the already released singles and the album tracks.

 

What was she even thinking with the opener?

i’m seeing a lot more negative reactions this morning and one of the biggest complaints seems to be “she shouldn’t have called it Pink Friday 2 when it doesn’t sound anything like the first one”

 

convinced everyone is deaf. Pink Friday had soooo many pop forward songs and samples and this basically amounts to a love letter to that album. this couldn’t be anything closer than a direct sequel to that album.

I agree, but I can understand this argument. Pink Friday 2's samples are way more in your face (Pink Friday Girls, SFG, Everybody), whereas they were for the most part a little more subtle on PF1, mainly being used for the instrumental (the exception being Girls Fall Like Dominoes for example, which resembles the sampling style of PF2).

The Roman Remix is so superior that it's not even funny. She should have done that, or at least I hope she puts it on the deluxe version (if there is one)

People literally said the same thing and had the same reaction when PF came out calling it too crossover, said she sang to much etc

!!!! it should’ve honestly been the only version of the song  I haven’t listened to the OG since it dropped and I forgot about it until this album  

 

Knowing Nicki if we get a deluxe, it’ll probably just be the loosies and blessings acapella
