KatyPrismSpirit Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 something just seems to be odd with this. how can there be this big of a difference between two streaming platforms? I have not seen this before honestly... it's especially interesting since one platform is very transparent with their streaming figures and the other one isn't

thatsmydemi Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Now Nicki stans can shut up about "no Spotify debut" and start with "only 179?!"

My guess is that the GP has been tuning out the new releases since the Morgan Wallen album release. People are instead content with streaming years old songs like Sunflower and Heat Waves.
Dreajae Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 That fanbase should be worried about getting PT2 and about 3 other songs recently released into the top 200 USA.
liquiddiamonds Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 (edited) We all know by now that AM has a larger hip hop/urban audience than Spotify. We also know that it’s a much smaller service worldwide, but strong in the US, so its charts are not reflective of Spotify Global 200. What’s funny about the payola arguments is that Spotify is the actual music service that is mostly driven by algorithms, autoplay and playlists, especially since it’s also a free service. It’s also the favorite streaming platform for businesses to play music for costumers. Their charts are sketchy because of these things. Although I wish AM would reveal their numbers, as a user we have way less algorithm interference and we rarely see stan streaming parties for the service, just like with Deezer. When it comes to stans and Apple y’all focus on iTunes because it’s easier to manipulate these days Edited June 4, 2023 by liquiddiamonds 1 1

Our fave is 13+ years in the game still charting similarly to girlies who were the new hot thing two years ago. We’re good

"Tomorrow 2" actually had a debut within the top 100 on Spotify USA and continued to climb upwards into the top 50. Something is fishy about how PIODFA didn't debut at all yesterday when its hype was at the highest but somehow had a debut the next day at #179. And it's even more suspicious how the song climbed up Apple Music so quickly (although not as quickly as "Tomorrow 2") and my only guess is that Cardi has pull on that platform specifically (i.e. her fans predominantly use Apple Music or there is some kind of payola going on that we are not aware of). I wish Apple Music would be more transparent with their streaming numbers.
