Should Ticketmaster's Verified Fan system change?

Absolutely it should go to the most deserving people first instead of those with the most capital. Poor people deserve to see shows and there are so many arena and stadium tours that dont fill out seats that could be easily given away.

Refunds are usually tricky with tickets, so resale should be allowed AS LONG AS it’s sold at the original price. Anything than that should be illegal.

Also, there’s no perfect solution with Verified Fan. If listening to the artist were a requirement, people would just exploit their Spotify/AM, if buying merch were a requirement then it would obviously become classist. Personally, I think you should ‘apply’ to be a verified fan and not be chosen randomly.

I had to register to all three Mexico dates via Verified Fan praying I’ll be chosen for one of them, wish me luck :sosad:

that's the thing tho, people who are not fans ( or even resellers) won't think about "oh, i must listen to taylor so i can get verified fan presale". maybe they will once they announce the dates, but it would be already too late to meet the "requirements", and most of them wouldn't buy merch or something. again, it's not the perfect system, but for the fans it would be better than the one we have currently.

i'm hoping you get selected!!!!

To be fair....I don't think someone has to be this huge fan to see someone live for instance there's many people id love to see live even tho I don't listen to them a whole lot

i agree! i do too! i just mean that there should be a presale which is reserved for actual verified fans, and then in general sale everyone can get them. i got tickets to Coldplay and i am just a casual listener, like so many people. i got the tickets and i had a BLAST at the concert, such a great experience, but not going wouldn't have killed me. however, for fans, not going to the concert of their favourite artist is actually very, very hard. damn, i am embarassed to admit how negatively it would affect me to not get tickets to see Taylor. so as a fan i would not actually care having a certain percentage of tickets go to dedicated fans.

i always wonder why ticketmaster doesn't make the tickets cheaper for concerts in which there are still a rather large amount of seats available when the concert is approaching, or even the day off. it will surely be more profitable to earn half the original price of the tickets than to earn nothing at all? probably bc it doesnt affect ticketmaster as much as it does the artist or the venue

its because of the greedy people that work at those companies that would rather see empty seats than people getting them for less than what the first grouping of ticketbuyers pay. i think taylor and other huge artists are in on it too. SO many artists not signed to big labels nowadays are performing for free and getting huge crowds to listen to their music, the old fashioned way, and arent getting signed just because they have tik tok traction with 30 seconds clips of songs.
