loveisdead9582
Celine is known for her powerhouse vocals and is considered a part of the vocal Trinity (Whitney, Celine, Mariah). Turns out, she has two out of the top selling female albums. Top selling female albums are: 1) Whitney Houston - the Bodyguard 2) Shania Twain - Come On Over 3) Alanis Morisette - Jaged Little Pill 4) Celine Dion - Falling Into You 5) Adele - 21 6) Celine Dion - Let’s Talk About Love 7) Madonna - The Immaculate Collection 8) Norah Jones - Come Away With Me 9) Mariah Carey - Music Box 10) Britney Spears - baby one more time Celine is also an honorable mention for being the only vocalist featured on the Titanic Soundtrack which beat out Britney. Personally I’m kind of shocked that Adele’s 21 wasn’t higher on the list but Celine served. Thoughts? ninetiesceline
Imagine releasing a 43M seller in 1996, then decided to release a 46M seller in 1997, few months after winning AOTY at the Grammys? She had the world under her palms..
byzantium
Celine’s peak was legendary and there is a reason she is the second bestselling female artist of all time. It should be noted though that all these albums sans Nora and Adele’s were released in the 90s when music sales reached their peak.

Céline's selling power during her commercial peak really had the industry shooked: Dion has sold more than twenty million albums in America in just one year’s time. And that figure is a precise one reflecting the actual number of albums purchased, not the number of albums shipped out to stores, which is how more liberal platinum certifications are determined. “The idea that a single artist could be responsible for selling more than twenty million albums in one year was once unthinkable. Even Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill and Hootie and the Blowfish’s Cracked Rear View, two of the best selling albums of the Nineties (selling 13.2 million and 9.7 million copies, respectively), took nearly two years to accumulate those huge tallies. As Billboard chart chief Geoff Mayfield puts it, “If you could buy stock in an artist, I’d buy stock in Celine Dion.” Rollingstone article December 22, 1998 https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/celine-dions-sales-will-go-on-and-on-and-on-76660/amp/ Edited June 2, 2023 by ninetiesceline

For perspective…That is more than Ariana’s whole career (including EAS) in the US.
Fastlane
Céline has only two fails: not to be songwriter of her music (she could have been a billioner with Oscar win) and not to be the main artist of Titanic Soundtrack like Whitney did with The Bodyguard.
