Should Gaga release a Lana-esque album?

Lana and Gaga started in the same circles and knew each other before they made it big. Gaga went global and commercial with her first 3 albums while Lana was more of a indie/alt girl.

Fast forward to 2023 and Lana’s discography is acclaimed and she is constantly in the top 10 most streamed female artists world wide without lifting a finger. She appeals to tumblr era gays, gen z, straights, and appeals to all races.

Both have released several albums but Gaga hasn’t managed to find a sound that is known as a “Gaga sound”

Should Gaga release an album like ULTRAVIOLENCE or NFR where she takes her writing to a higher level and creates a whole universe around the album (chromatica almost did it but wasn’t executed right)

This would make Gaga appeal to a broader demographic since Lana’s sound is so appealing and even her old songs go viral on tik tok all the time.

Gaga is a writer and has a great voice I think she could pull off an album like Born to Die, ULTRAVIOLENCE or NFR!

Wtf is this thread? No, Gaga would put on her Broadway vocals and the writing would be terrible

gaga's vocals aren't pleasant to listen to, so she wouldn't be able to pull it off and let's not even start on the lyrical aspect

Nobody can do what Lana Del Rey does like Lana Del Rey. She should stick to camp acting.

I'm a big fan of both of them, but Lana can't do what Gaga does just like Gaga can't do what Lana does. And neirher of them should try.

Gaga can sing and she can come up with hooks, she wouldn’t ever do need anything like that lol

i would love that. i'm not sure how it would work with gaga's vocals but it could potentially sound great. monsters would probably complain though since it's not dance pop

She doesn't have the talent, the range or anything of that sort.

She hired and, in some cases, straight up stole songs from ultra-acclaimed artists like, Father John Misty, Tame Impala, Beck, Florence and the Machine, Mark Ronson, Emile Haynie and the result was... Joanne like...:gaycat6:

She's just not that girl.

She should stick to making generic AC radio fodder and pop songs with mid hooks since that is all her unlistenable voice is good for.

I love Lana but it wouldn't make sense for Gaga. She's known for different things and has different strengths.

Also people dragging Gaga's vocals as if Lana's known as some all-timer vocalist :rip:

I think Madonna, Mariah would do better with that lower tone

But I’m pretty sure that Gaga could do it too

Think at her voice in The Cure, it’s beautiful!

I’d love to hear a more deep singer songwriter record like DYKTTATUOB from Gaga for sure, both queens! :jonny5:

that being said, I don’t necessarily look for that type of style from Gaga, I want more electronic EDM type stuff from her, but Gaga can do whatever she puts her mind to :gaygacat5:

Lady Gaga + Lana Del Rey-esque album = Pure trash

She should make a glam rock album with a vintage groovy pop sound now THAT would be a gag

An album full of Dopes? Her voice is not pleasant for calm music. Gaga is more power, rock music or songs like ARUTW.

We already have a MPG (Taylor) who is trying to copy Lana, we don't need another.

Gaga songwriting is horrible, it would just end up being an embarassing effort like Joanne.

Lana's voice is perfect. Not being a vocalist doesn't mean you have an ugly voice. On the contrary, vocalists can end up having super annoying voices, like Xtina, etc.

Honey, this is kinda true but it might be a little too honest:swan:

Lana studio vocals are pleasant to listen to for the most part. Most of Gaga vocals in her recent output are just painful even if she is technically the better singer

She cannot do what Lana does just like Lana cannot do what Gaga does.

No not everyone has the songwriter range of someone like Taylor Swift can make some great record from country to pop to folk and indie.

Lana more pop attempts were weak too, so She can't make the fame Monster or Born this way too.

With a project of a certain type She would sell even less than her jazz projects.
