The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), took place on Monday, January 15th, 2024, with Anthony Anderson as host. The Creative Arts ceremonies took place on January 6 and 7, where most categories were presented. The ceremonies were initially slated for September 2023 but delayed due to strikes.

The Bear (season 1) was the biggest winner with 10 wins.

Nominations were announced on July 12th. HBO/HBO Max led the nominations amongst networks, with Succession season 4 leading with 27 nominations.

The 75th edition will honor the best in American primetime programming from June 1st, 2022 through May 31st, 2023.

As with every year, rule changes occur, including the elimination of the "hanging episode" rule that previously allowed episodes that aired after the May 31st deadline, but before nomination voting began, to be eligible for the upcoming ceremony.

Voting schedule:

Nominations: June 15th - 26th

Winners: August 17th - 28th

Succession better win some acting awards.

Ted Lasso should be snubbed.

Succession is winning literally everything

nah, we're not gonna have a 3rd rich white family show sweep this decade after 30something years without any drama or comedy do it.

at the very least, rich white tourist show the white lotus will win s actress.

eta: oh wait, it's been 30something years since one had won the big 5.

iirc, no comedy or drama ever did the top 7 categories before this decade.

I don’t think they meant literally every above the line category, just that they’ll be winning a bunch of them

they said "winning literally everything"

" literally every single"

if they didn't mean literally by saying literally literally, that's not my problem.

Succession will (rightfully) clear all categories. I saw that drag queens Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova have a billboard up for the television academy's consideration for their webshow. Are webshows now eligible for EMMYs?

In the Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama or Variety Series category. The Pit Stop and Watcha Packin’ also got submitted there last year I believe.

Succession will be nominated in Drama Series, Drama Actor, Drama Actress, Drama Supporting Actor, Drama Supporting Actress, Drama Writing, Drama Director. It will probably win all of these minus Supporting Actress. It'll be nominated for/win more Creative Arts Emmys too

My prediction for it is:

Outstanding Drama Series

Outstanding Lead Actor (Drama) - Jeremy Strong

Outstanding Lead Actress (Drama) - Sarah Snook

Outstanding Supporting Actor - Matthew Macfayden

Outstanding Writing (Drama) - Jesse Armstrong "With Open Eyes"

Outstanding Directing (Drama) - Mark Mylod "With Open Eyes"
