Topaz Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 She does make really marketable pop music. Her Mad Love album has decent streams.
Sabandija Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 From the song itself to the video everything reminisces The Boy Is Mine and I love it.

I'm getting tired of these types of songs, can she just release a BANGER? we know full well she is capable of it Ugh, I can’t believe we still have to have these conversations. JoJo is an R&B/Soul singer, period. Her musical influences were always soul singers, not pop. Her voice is naturally soulful. Just because she’s an (attractive) white woman who looks like a pop star, doesn’t mean she is more naturally inclined to sing pop. R&B is where she has always most comfortable. “Acting like a baddie” is what Ariana and Jesy were doing, not JoJo. JoJo has always understood her place in the genre and carried herself well, which is why she’ has gotten so much respect from black R&B artists for almost 20 years. 2
Exodus Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Not sure who Mahalia is but the song and video is so good. I like the intentional nods to The Boy Is Mine, MySpace and Razor phones. It's also fun to think that Jojo was popular during that time. 1
