I'm sure if you own a PS5, you'd own a phone for remote play. A $300 handheld device without any wireless/cloud tethering makes more sense. (I'd rather them not though, please just focus on the first party exclusives for PS5 and leave the handhelds to Ninty because they actually know what they're doing ) PSVR2 actually has outperformed the PSVR1 by 8% in its launch. Even more impressive because PSVR1 launched during the holiday season and when PS4 was on the market for 4 years already, whole the PS5 only 2.5 years and a Feb launch. The idea that it flopped came from a Bloomberg reporter that has been debunked as of yesterday. I think that would make it either the #1 or #2 biggest launch for a VR system ever. But yeah, this handheld device is dumb as hell.
enchanted0 Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 (edited) Actually many people play switch without connecting to the screen even in their home I think it might be not too bad… like even if you have to connect to wifi, if you can controll it (like turn on/off main PS5) with this new device I don’t think it will be that bad Edited May 25, 2023 by enchanted0
superchaz Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 It would have to depend on the price range and how connectivity is through remote play. I currently use the official licensed PlayStation backbone controller with my phone which works just as well bar the quality of the play depending on where you are. It’s easier and cheaper for people just to buy a controller as everyone has either got a tablet or a phone to play on
