I was about to ask the same thing. 

 

Golden years MTV would have done it and watched the fireworks explode, as each act would have coveted the slot.

 

Now...it's almost more to MTV's benefit to be in bed with Nicki than the other way around as no " major" artists really seem like they're playing ball with the show anymore. 

 

She's petty enough to use her negotiation leverage to ensure her rivals aren't on the bill. but at the same time I wonder if Cardi/Meg would even want to associate with a show "hosted by Nicki Minaj"?

 

It's tricky because all three could do with the promo in terms of the timing of their releases.
