I just don't need to see 1947394730 threads of this tired beef. It was iconic when it happened but like  Katy announced new music let's hope that's good while idk what Gaga is doing rn but her career (as an actress) is fine.

Roar was a copy paste of an existing empowerment song which were big at the time

with a cliched, cringeworthy video

 

of course the GP ate Roar up but Applause won the war for people with actual taste

I used to hate Roar, partly because it destroyed Applause on the charts, but it's grown on me immensely and I prefer it over the other now. Applause is still a great song though.

 

Music video is easily Roar.

 

Single cover is easily Applause. The Roar one is hideous.

Her career was never the same after Roar destroyed Applause critically and sales wise. To this day monsters hold so much anger towards Katy because of it 

 

Katy won the war. She makes way more money and is happily married with a beautiful baby

I used to prefer Roar but I love Applause more nowadays, the production and lyrics just hit. Roar is good as well but I think Applause has more edge.
