I genuinely don’t understand the fuss here. The legal age of consent in the UK is sixteen. When I was 17 I regularly slept with someone in their forties, I actively pursued him and we’re still in touch 12 years later. He bought me and my new partner a very nice plant for Christmas 😂. I think some of you do too much. Some people like older guys, others just aren’t age discriminatory. It’s not as if they met in the playground.

It says more about the 46-year-old than it does the 18-year-old. I don't understand how a grown man could date someone who's still, virtually, a child. Is he not able to find guys his own age? He looks decent enough, I suppose.

 

This, I do find weird—if not unquestionably inappropriate.

It doesn’t have to be pedophilia for it to still be predatory. 
 

Obviously no laws are broken, nothing legally is wrong with this.  But it’s incredibly suspect for a 45 year old to start communicating romantically with a 17 year old. Could you imagine EVER dating someone that was born when you were 28?! 
 

It’s not just a gay issue either, it’s awful when straight people do the same thing however I think some gay men try to pass off any criticism of age differences like this as homophobia when it’s clearly not
