I just don’t get it DF was an okay album that could have been pretty good if the tracklist didn’t include that batch of 3 sonically different songs (I’m To Blame, Kick In The Head, c&c). She literally could have included the deluxe tracks initially, had a cohesive album and then released the other 3 as bonuses (which makes more sense because they sound nothing like the album)

I will not stand for Tove slander. Dirt Femme isn't as good as LW/BL but I think it's maybe her most sonically cohesive project to date, closely followed by Sunshine Kitty surprisingly

I think LW is her most sonically cohesive. All songs just flow perfectly on that record

LW is her most cohesive, her most ambitious, her most innovative, best body of work by like a thousand miles. I still think that even tho Cool Girl is pop perfection, it was a weird lead single and too much for the GP :WAP:  
 

I never see praise for Vibes, but imo that would’ve been THEE perfect bridge between QOTC and Lady Wood, and i think that sonically, Vibes fit better in 2016. 
 

Vibes -> Cool Girl -> True Disaster -> Don’t Talk About It    would’ve been the perfect single run. 
 

anyway i’m high. I read the comment about Dirt Femme being her most cohesive and I had to laugh. LW > DF > BL = SK > QOTC in therms of cohesiveness.

Lady Wood is her best by far, masterpiece tbh 

 

I think I love this song specifically because it reminds me of LW era kinda, not tonally but in terms of the sound somewhat. They feel like opposites in that LW is like the sound of the club on the worst night of your life, whereas this song is like the best night :gaycatina1:

my problem with dirt femme is that the main sound of the album is songs like NODFL, Suburbia, AW, PS, Grapefruit... and it's cute for a couple songs but it's just mid to have a whole album like that imo when you have songs like Call On Me and How Long in it... specially now that the 2 deluxe tracks are better than 70% of the standard. and yes cute and cruel needs to be deleted

I do agree that Lady Wood is her boldest album, but some of the taste in this thread :biblio:

 

C&C and True Romance don’t fit the album, I agree. But the rest of the songs are all 8-9/10. People saying the album is mid or has too many lows…huh? 
 

I think based on what I’ve heard now this is how I would have had the track list: 

 

1. How Long

2. I like U

3.  No One Dies From Love

4. 2 Die 4 

5. Suburbia 

6. Grapefruit

7. Call on Me 

8. Pineapple Slice 

9. Attention *****

10. Borderline

11. Kick in the Head

You mean the 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12 punch of the whole album back to back. Probably my favorite pop album of all time I fear :dancehall:

Nah I’m To Blame is amazing. And it suits the narrative of How Long and No One Dies From Love but also Kick In the Head where she talks about taking responsibility for herself. So it all ties together nicely. 
 

True Romance is cute but it doesn’t really work with the rest of the songs and just feels off. Same with Passion and Pain from Sunshine Kitty. Great ballads but don’t work amongst the upbeat songs.

hmm this is cute I guess but I probably won't play this much. She has so many way better songs. This one feels pretty mid
