MFP maintains lead after nearly all votes counted

It’s midnight in Thailand right now, and nearly 80 percent of all votes have now been counted.

MFP continues to maintain its stunning lead, according to results published on the elections commission website, and is on track to win some 114 of the 400 directly-elected constituency seats.

These include nearly all of the 33 seats in Bangkok.

MFP is also expected to take more than 30 of the 100 party-list seats.

The second-placed Pheu Thai looks set to win some 111 directly-elected seats and 25 of the party-list seats.

I’m so glad that young voters have turned up this election as evident from the numbers of Move Forward Party. It’s incredible and emotional to see. They were the ones who mobilized the democracy protests over the years, relentlessly standing up against monarchy and Prayuth's government. Prayuth can choke after making people’s lives living hell.

Never forget.

Thaksin's daughter is currently 2nd. It's a little embarrassing for Pheu Thai, no?

I see the actors that I follow have their pictures taken within the voting compound, they all seem pretty excited.
